A friend that works with selling/repairing washing machines told me that a certain model of Selectro (Servis in Sweden)washing machine has started some fires here in Sweden.
In all cases the fire was only in the machine and didnt spread. In all cases (12) expect one, the fire seems to have started in the machines electronic card. The other fire had started in the motor.
Selectro and Swedish Konsumentverket has now sent out a recall in the newspapers to not use this particular machine (W 5522) until a certified repairman have repaired the machine.
They did a test to find out what caused the fires and found the following:
"When the water pressure is high the water spills out from the back of the detergent drawer and landing on the unprotected Electronic card."
This means they have to repair about 1000 machines and thats just in Blekinge (where i live).
