Saw a Whirlmiral @ Home Depot this evening. Or an Admirpool. :-)

I'm surprised the Admiral name survived the merger.

That washer is the Maytag "Cenntenial" washer. It has been realeased to celebrate Maytag having existed for 100 years. Of course it has a matching dryer in gas/electric forms.

They are either Whirltags, Admiraltags, or Amanatags.

I thought

I thought it was Kenmaypool.

Looks like you have the one with a white, as opposed to a stainless tub. Is it porcelain? Actually is a decent looking machine.

Hi Martin. Yes, I have the white porcelain tub. I did not like the look of the stainless steel tub with all the seams in it. At least the white tub may have all those seams but they are covered with porcelain. My machine also has extra rinse knob.
Cost was $398.00 at Lowes plus delivery.

extra rinse

Ross,

My Maytag Dependable Care unit has that extra rinse control also, which I always use. I really like getting as much of the detergent out as possible.

Even though we complain about the Whirlpool DD system, overall it is a pretty decent and dependable unit. Does your washer have the "commercial transmission".

And finally, does it have the dumb down temperature control that has hot water actually mixing with cold when hot is selected. Or did you buy it before all of that happened?

Martin

Hi Martin. I think the Whirltags are better quality than the
Performa/Admiraltag/Amanatag. Unfortunately, I do have that dumb down of cold water when I set the machine for hot. Just another example of what the eco-bolsheviks are doing to our washers
while they fill their pools, water their lawns, and wash their cars. All in all, I really do like the machine. I am trying to use my modern machines as daily drivers and only sparingly use the vintage machines.

Question

Can you turn off the cold water faucet so you get a hot-only fill even as the machine tries to dumb down the temp?

Also would love to see a close up of the control panel and the largest load setting during a cycle.
