I need to replace the hose that fills the tub in my Whirpool LA5530XT. I would rather not dismantle more than I need to. I bet one of you guys can guide me on this.

A bit unusual for that hose to need replacing, it doesn't get much wear/tear.

Access is by removing the cabinet.

There are two screws, at the lower corners of the control panel. The pic below is a KitchenAid but your screws are in the same places. Remove the screws.

I agree that it seemed strange for that hose to rupture, but it certainly has. Let's see if I can manage a movie theatre and fix a washer at the same time tonight.

The control panel is hinged at the top corners. Pull it slightly forward, then flip it back. You'll need to position the machine away from the wall just a little so the control panel can flip back but is supported against the wall.

Next, use a flat-blade screwdriver to carefully remove the two spring clips that hold the cabinet to the machine's rear panel.

Unplug the wiring harness that's toward the right side under the control panel (not shown in the pic).

The entire cabinet then tilts forward and lifts off the base.

When reassembling, open the lid for a hand-hold, slip the front lip of the cabinet under the front edge of the base. Set the cabinet down into place. You may need to hold the rear panel steady and forward to help get things properly aligned.

Important! -- There are tabs on the sides toward the back on the machine's base that fit into slots in the edge of the cabinet. You MUST fit the tabs into the slots for proper stability. It can be tricky.

Replace the spring clips, lower the control console into place, and replace the two screws.

Oops! Also don't forget to reconnect the wiring harness plug!

It works now...

Thank you so much. I would have never figured out how to remove the cabinet.

Normally, you see an owner attempted repair, by pry marks on the back panel of the machine. Glad you got it going!
