I didn't think you could use a powerfin agitator in a orbital Maytag -- isn't it hard on the transmission? I'd like to put one in mine but I'd like to be sure it's ok. |

So, should I take out the PowerFin and put back the LoadSensor? My machine is a '97 Dependable Care.... |

PLASTIC gears?! Who does Maytag thing they are, GE? So one wonders why plastic gears in a Maytag are OK, but junk in a GE? |

Is there a way to just get the agitator instead of the entire kit? I'd really like to have a lint filter again and replace the spiral agitator that I have now. |

Thanks Erik -- I went to maytag.com and I think I found the right agitator and it does have a lint filter. Ordered it today! Thanks again! Doug |

The power fin agitators were blue colored one piece straight vanes. The later load sensor agitators were basically dual action agitators with the spiral top half and straight fins on the skirt. |

I'll have to get some videos up of my mom's Orbital Maytag with classic tub and powerfin. It sounds just like yours. |

That is incredible to watch!!! With that kind of rollover I imagine you wouldn't need to wash most clothing for more than say 10 minutes. I guess you could live 'dangerously' (smile) knowing that Maytag does not recommend switching to this agitator. Maybe order another transmission before Maytag is sold just to have it on hand??? Judging from your vids you do not overload the machine even at a half load and that may help keep the wear on the tranny down. Would love to see how this would stack up against a front loader in terms of stain removal.
