CIAO!

Mi ricorda qualche Zerowatt... ah! Forse perchè è profonda solo 33cm!?!?
Bella!

It remembers me some Zerowatt (the Hoover brand here some years ago)...ah! Maybe because it's 33cm deep only!??!
Beatifull!

Candy Formula Stainless

Hello Alex,
That's a lovely little Candy and great water levels. It says "Formula Inox" on the fascia panel I presume that's the Formula Stainless series that were sold in the UK? I always admired the engineering in the Candy Formula Stainless washers, the Egg shaped seamless Stainless Steel tub which was mounted within a strong Galvanised Steel frame to which the Motor and balance weights were attached. They were well made machines and they washed and rinsed well too. I have never seen one as shallow depth as your machine, is that a space saving design exclusive to Italy?

Thank you for the great videos they brought back memories for me.

David

Duplicate Post

Sorry Robert,
I followed the instructions on the Duplicate Post screen, I think the problem was this end with my Internet connection.

I think this is the successor of your machine, the Candy CY2 074, it's 700rpm, 4kg, class A energy and washing.

I had a look to the Candy UK site, they list only a few of the many machine available in Italy!!!
Here there is this one 33cm deep
Six washers that are 40 cm deep (all 5 or even 6 kilos!)
And 3 aquamatic (44cm deep) similar to the one in the UK that hold 3,5Kg, but they're only 70 cm tall

Also in the UK the washer/dryers spin at 1400 rpm (CMD146/CMD146s), in Italy it is 1300 for the 5+5kg model (CLD135) or 1200 for the 6+4kg model (CLD126)!!!
Indesit does the same, the top spinning speed in Italy is only 1200, in the UK is up to 1600!
Plus 99,99% of the dryers sold here are condensing models wich is even less energy efficient!

Warmer Climate

Hi Gabriele,
I suspect the spin speed is due to the warmer climate in Italy, the UK can be very damp and humid and cloths don't always dry quickly even on a sunny day. I live on the coast so this no doubt makes for more humid air but the UK in general is known for it wet weather even during the summer months. A fast spin is a must for me as it shortens drying time on the clothes line or in the dryer.

Hi David!
You're partially right, unluckly enough here in the north the climate in winter is just as bas as any other country (btw, heating is already on at home) so I really don't understand why this difference... I think that is mostly because people still think that 800 rpm is already a faaast spinning speed but that's just a guessing! :S
Believe it or not but there still are many 400 rpm washers on sales around here and people still buy them! Unbeliavable!

Cute Candy Alex!

I had a look at the numbers of the cycles. I can imagine what most are for, but at the end there are 17, 18 and Z, what are those for?

My childhood-dream

Really loved those lil Candy machines when I was a child.

But instead of such a Candy I got a real boring Privileg (Zanker, Electrolux ) Mini-Washer with a frontdoor,
so I couldn´t see it wash :(

Nino,

Which Privileg model do you have?

Privileg Compact **

Oh, when I was 8, I got a Privileg Compact ** (38?)...the drum took 3 kg, about 5 pullovers.
The machine smelled terrible and the spin speed of 800 rpm wasn´t enough.
I sold it after 1 year and made some profite.

And now I have a AEG Lavamat78800 :(

Not really, it was a front-loading machine.

Ma che cosa!

toggleswitch's profile picture
33cm is 13.2 inches deep!!!!!!
4kg is 8.8 pounds.

I think the smallest US machine I have ever seen is about 11 pounds in capacity! (5kg!)

Is there a way to see the cabinet (exterior) of this machine to gauge the depth?

O M G!

Sì Steve...è proprio così!

YES! Candy and Zerowatt (now we call them Hoover but they'r the same)...made the narrowest WM... only 33cm deep...the Zerowatt model was called SpazioZero33...they load only 4Kg but honestly the efficiency in washing is not the best...imagine the bedsheets in a such small drum!?

Infact Candy called it Holiday just because they're great in those which Italians call "Seconde case" and where the space is not generally so much...that's Holiday houses!

Post# 241490 , Reply# 29   10/10/2007 at 09:11 (6,041 days old) by vivalalavatrice ()
Then there would be a solution...

The Zerowatt became Hoover made (and now why no more!?) made the SpazioTOP,which was the same machine as SpazioZero33 but reaching at least the 42cm of depth gaining the chilo to load 5! But this as the same name says is a Top loading model (just like Staber or my Ignis)...and so...I have not ever understand why here people are frightened by top loading...infact this model is not been maufactured any more!
