I was recently talking to the drycleaner around the corner from my house about his new dryer. It is supposed to reduce wear on delicate items by drying them fast at high heat, and reducing wear from tumbling. It is used for drying water washer clothing. He said it is very sensitive to the moisture in the clothing, and turns the heat down before they completely dry to prevent shrinking. He was skeptical at first using higher heat, but has had no problems with shrinking, and items dry faster. He said that it is a trend in dry cleaning to move to wet cleaning for more items, and to use highly sophisticated machines that take better care of the clothing. I thought it was interesting. Joe |
