Braille machine

It is a machine for sight impaired. I used to see one here in Italy.

Matt its a Zanussi Amie from around 1997. As bewitched said its for the visually impaired. Nothing else unusual about it compared to the usual Nexus machines at the time :)

Which? magazine, at the time (I thought it was nearer 1994?), gave it good marks for ease of use by the visually impaired.

One of the other machines to get reasonable marks was the Hoover New Wave (large bi-directional dial; large LED programme display; programme easily reset if main switch was turned off, etc.)

Right dial...

...appears to be the programme progress indicator.
