I love that Blackstone POD
That heavy rubber ring around the lid just sends me! And their claim is correct from the patents "World's first Automatic Agitator Washer". Too bad GE and Kenmore had the distribution angle all sewed up.
That machine is identical to mine mechanically the cabinet & controls are different. Those RED knobs are hot!

Remember ALL : March is National Knob Month!!!!

Check out that dryer!

Wow. I've never seen a dryer with "French" doors before. Talk about fascinating!

That POD Blackstone sure looks interesting! Did the washer have the "cabinet" as well?

Now that elf book sure is weird...

I remember someone my mother knew had a Blackstone washer and she opened the doors on it and let me watch the mechanism inside while my mother and her visited with each other.I was very little then and when I saw that machine on this website-I then learned what it was and something about it.Can't remember much details though-but what an interesting way to "entertain" a kid back then-was better than the TV-Didn't look inside it though-The cabinet had the two doors on the front that opened to reveal the works inside.Looked like the model #150 thats in the "manuals" section of this website. Those elves do look rather scary-don't know what I would have done if they jumped out at me!!

Blackstone-solid as a rock?

Why did Blackstone tell folks to use soap, and not detergent?and IS the Blackstone really a superior washer or not?

Mrcleanjeans asked: "IS the Blackstone really a superior washer or not?" Consumer Reports never throught very much of Blackstone Washer and Dryers. That may be one of the reasons why Blackstone never enjoyed a very large market share. (Which, in turn, may account for the fact that the company -- if it's still in business -- no longer sells washers and dryers.)

This Blackstone said to use soap because only soap was available at the time. Remember, this is the FIRST automatic agitator washer. It would be a few years before syndets came around.
