Hey Guys ~

Noticed these two on Craigslist. Figured someone here really needs TWO coin-op Bendix washers. Play nice!

Ben

I want them!

I guess I could install a Laundromat area in my storefront building.

Oh dear...

Looks like I am going to get them. :-)

He also has 20-30 newer Philco Bendix machines. His family used to run a Laundromat. I'll take plenty of pictures!

Robert, Could I come introduce myself when I am there?

How very cool!

The only thing I love more than having something I really like is having TWO of them!

Be sure to post pictures!

Congratulations Travis, I'm so glad you are getting these, that way I'm not even tempted and a big YAY for not being tempted.

When are you planning on picking these beauties up?

The first coin-laundry I remember seeing as a child had these old diving-bells in them. There was a concrete trough that ran behind the row of them and they would just open their little drains and gravity-dump the water into the trough, which flowed right out of the building and into the sewer.

Most of the time they could be see barfing sudz overboard, and I remember the lame spin speed. I remember thinking that they must be antiques and THAT was in the 1950's! In those days if it didn't say Frigidaire on it I wasn't impressed.

Very kool to see some of those old things have survived commercial service! Pretty tuff stuff.

Robert, I pan to come up in the next three weeks. I have to make the time to do so. The seller has a forklift so I am thrilled! If only I had one on this end.

All I ever wanted was a home model Bendix, but I thought the coin-ops would be cool. One of them may have been serviced right before storage whenever that was.

The seller mentioned other Philco-Ford washers that he had. His family had a laundromat.

Jet, someone mentioned you have a collection of Westinghouse xylophones. Help a newbie here find one. :-)

I'll take pics of everything I see including cute men in Iowa on the way.
