Hello, I found this site while browsing online. My wifes aunt passed away recently and in the process of tearing down an old outbuilding her grandmothers old Maytag wringer washer was rediscoverd coated in thick dust of long disuse. My wife wanted to keep it(were both packrats of old family items no one else wants). I took it home and put it my shop, plugged it in and it came to life in what seems perfect working order. It has some rust which I have cleaned up with good success and I have given it a coat of white appliance paint. I do have some questions. (1) Does anyone know where I can get a maintainence and service manual, so I can repair and service what needs done to it. (2) It does,nt seem right now to need any parts, but if needed can they still be ordered? I dont know the date of its manufacture, but it one of the square while models with aluminum tub, and the words MAYTAG spelled out in chrome on its front. Any suggestions or assistance in helping me preserve this family relic would be appreciated.

You might find a service manual on EBay, or at a long time Maytag dealer. Parts are NLA from Maytag, again, EBay, or an old established dealer.

I would think that even if you can't get your hands on a maintenance/instruction manual, someone here could advise you on the main things to check so you can be sure the machine is in proper working order, or how to get it that way.

Maytag Wringer Washer

Thanks, I kind of figured Maytag had discontinued any parts. I appreciate any help anyone can give to help me keep this old machine in good running order.
