Wow

Who made these? The wringer head is identical to the Australian made Simpson wringers.

Did these use a fluid drive gearbox underneath?

Underneath

Nathan, I have no idea what I have but assumed Greg would assassinate me if I didn't pick it up. When I get back to the shop tomorrow I will look 'underneath' and also look for a nameplate or something - maybe take a couple more pics.
Now I know was Australia is known as the land down under.

How interesting, I only stopped at a couple of sales this week and didn't see ANY laundries let alone this. I don't assassinate, I congratulate! This could make a great sculpture beginning - if your wife doesn't fall in love with it first!

That's probably a Lovell wringer, they supplied many manufacturers with wringer assemblies.

Money Shot?

Here is an inside shot.

So, you mean I can vandalize it?!?

Here is an underneath shot.

So, I interpret your comments to mean that it is not necessary that I preserve this unit to save humanity? I can go ahead and let my muse consider it for appropriate artistic "value added" treatment?
I'm so excited.

If you go to the archives to 11535 you can see a picture of a Laundry Queen automatic washer I posted earlier this year.

CBS Sunday morning last Sunday did a nice story on Maytag leaving Newton. I guess there were several appliance companies located in Newton in the early part of the 20th Century.

Great Lyrics

BTW, Bob, enjoyed your lyrics. You should record a .wav and link it for us.
