I have just heard from one of our members who has just had one of the greatest find of the year so far, this is very exciting because I believe this is his/her first vintage automatic! And what an automatic to start with!!!

Name/year/brand withheld to prevent any unnecessary jinxing, but we hope to see pictures some time soon, maybe by next week.

Guesses, anyone?

Let's see. Colonel Mustard in the conservatory with a lead pipe.

Whoops! Wrong thread.

I'll guess veg-o-matic, 1952 Apex Bouncing Basket.

Whoops again!

My real guess will be jasonl and a Lady K.

Wow, if it is an Apex bouncing basket that would definitely be one of the great finds of the year--of the decade, for that matter!

My guess is a '64 solid basket Westinghouse TL.

Hmmm. But JasonL is moreso wanting a Kenmore 800 than a Lady K.

Maybe somebody found another Philco??

Professor Plum in the laundry room with a Miss America??

Lady K

Didn't Jason get a Lady K that was up north a while ago?

Our mystery member, who is about to enter the "circle of collecting" is going to pick up his or her mystery vintage automatic tomorrow afternoon.

I have a feeling we will see pictures sooner than later, YAY.

Teasers

It really is *nice*...I promise....literally gently used by a little old lady.

We're good folks and I don't anticipate a jinx, barring tornadoes or an earthquake. We just want it to go to a good home.

Enjoy. I'm sure pictures will follow accordingly.

(I had to go on and register/respond...sorry, LOL as I'm not a collector...I'm just genuinely happy we found a home for this item)

Hmmm...I am starting to suspect a Philco also - but considering the teaser information - is that too easy of a guess? Well, we will have to see. Perhaps a Kelvinator or Norge?

Sure hope it's a 56 pink Frigidaire!!!! I would like to see one other than at the museum!

You're such a tease, Robert!!!! ;-)

I started to suspect a Philco until I saw the Miss America screen name. Either that's to throw us off or it's an attempt to lead us down the "It's a Philco path" only to find out that we're wrong. I'm hoping that it's an Apex bouncing basket, but I think that you'd burst from the excitement if you tried to keep that to yourself for any length of time! ;-) Just about everyone has a Frigidaire in their collection, so that can't be it! Maybe a Philco combo? Or Another Wizard? I'm hoping that it's another Maytag combo! That would be awesome.

Mike
