You all should go to Youtube and type in "Washing Machine from Hell"-it will show an old style GE washer badly off-balance, shaking as the tub bangs against the sides so hard, then comes up to full speed!

The sad outcome of this is that it often pulled the huge boot loose that spanned the gap between the tranny and the outer tub. The next time the machine filled, the water just poured out onto the floor.

appliance abuse

There should be a law that punishes people who abuse their appliances. Obviously they are getting their kicks off the pain this machine is suffering.
