Those things are ugly! I would never want one in my house! They quite remind me of "Space 1999" or something futuristic in the 60s...

Uses water. No Soap?

The machine does use water for some options along with a combonation of ozone. Yes the "Air Wash" converts oxygen atoms into ozone atoms to do Air Wash. Ozone atoms have a strong oxidation action which either destroys or disassembles the cell walls of germs. This eliminates bacteria, odors, and dirt(organic matter) from laundry. The machine also has a "Normal" cycle which uses a combonation of water and ozone to wash laundry. The machine stores water from the last rinse inside a tank in the machine. Ozone microbubbles purify the water and use it for the wash. Also, the machine is a washer/dryer combo. The recycled water can also be used to humidify a drying load. The machine only uses 50 liters of water if the recycling option is used. But don't worry. It also has an option to use new water for wash, rinse, and dry. That option uses 80 liters of water. Other options that the machine has include: The "Zero Detergent Course" which uses ozone-injected water to clean lightly-soiled laundry. The "Ozone Steam Course" which which eliminates bacteria and odors during drying by using ozone-injected steam. The "Mold Guard" which is the machine's self-clean cycle which uses ozone to kill mold and kepp it from growing. And "Shelf Dry" which can dry delicate clothing, stuffed animals, and shoes! Yes, ozone is harmful to the environment but don't worry. The machine takes the used ozone and converts it back into oxygen before dispensing it back out. The machine is set to go on sale this March for a whopping US $2,200!

SANYO

I've heard that Sanyo's businesses are in such deep trouble it is trying to sell off its appliance line in its entirety.
I would suspect the washer is being promoted to show their technical prowess, not to win sales.
At $2200 each, they'll sell.... four.. if they're lucky.
