does anybody remember the old snowcap front loading washers from the 1990's, they were'nt the best looking machines but were intresting to watch, my step-nanny used to have one and the door was practicly hanging off it she had to put the laundry basket full of cloths against the door to stop it opening when it was washing and one day my auntie wanted to spin her trousers out in it and she had to ask me to hold the door on while it spun, which wasn't as easy as it sound cause it was a very badly balanced machine and my arm kept on going dead, the machine packed in soon after, shame i never got any pictures of it, one thing that i thought was weird about it was it had a black door seal instead of the usual grey/blue door seal.

Snowcap

That name rings a bell! But I know it as being domestic refrigeration, circa 1990. I worked in Currys at that time, and one of the other sales lads joked about it (fridge-freezer) being made in Russia(???), or Eastern Europe at any rate. Seventeen years ago, now - the mind plays tricks! LOL
