...I have taken an image of the A3060 Electronic 1100 and created what I think/assume the seemingly extinct Hoover A3064 Selectamatic may have looked like.

Having had a look at the official service manual to gain a basic idea of what the components of the basic facia looked like, I have grafted the design onto the facia of the A3060.

With the A3064 being from the same series as the A3060 and A3062 Keymatic, I have assumed that the colouring would have been the same and hence left the lining and other standard features.

The top machine is a basic template, whilst the bottom one has, using the buttons from the advert, got blank lights coloured grey.

I did wonder whether the A3064 had a time line like the A3114 Selectamatic, but the service manual shows five lights.
I would assume these would have a slight glow when deactivated, but haven't tried to add colour as they would appear too bright.

By all means, if you know what the colours were and the order they appeared in, then have a go at painting them in.

I have no doubt asked this before, but ANY (said with emphasis - not shouting) information on the A3064 would be GREATLY (as before) appreciated. It seems that this machine has totally disappeared from the face of the earth.

a quick search on google UK for 'selectamatic A3064' gives 0/zero hits! seems this machine has vanished from the UK.

and finally a question i should have asked at the start - can anyone confirm that the images below are a good likeness of the real thing?

fingers crossed.
paul

thinking about it, the A3064 must have had a programme guide written on the facia somewhere. The follow on A3114 had such a feature which ran to 18 different programmes/features.

The band of lights definately existed, although from looking again at the technical drawing I had the lights and on/off buttons too far to the left.

from the looks of it the two buttons were closer to the programmer dial, whilst the band of lights was definately placed centrally within the facia.

now to the programme guide - pure conjecture i am afraid.

jog any memories at all?

Paul

Hi Peter.

The pages with the facia technical drawings came from an official Hoover Service Manual that I bought off ebay about 6 months ago now. Wasn't in the best of conditions and turned out to be incomplete!

Following on from the above, I have been at it again. Images of the A3062 Keymatic also appear to be very rare. Neverthless, thanks to Mike, who provided me with an image of one, I have done a drawing and sat it alongside the A3060 for comparison (the image of the A3060 Electronic 1100 is the actual image from which the A3062 and A3064 were produced).

I am totally happy that the rendering of the A3062 Keymatic below is accurate.

The whole series were very smart looking machines.

The A3058 Electronic 800 was different in that it retained the A3006 style facia, rather than having programme information contained in blacked squares or facia lining around the edges.
Wonder why hoover never upgraded this model to look like the rest of the series.

Anyway - enjoy the Keymatic 1100.

one more thing - in reality the Keymatic and Selectamatic should have chrome doors. ooops - forgot.
Also difficult to do - so not going to attempt to do as would probably look awful, with my skills.

Ayone care to have an attempt?

Finally...

decided to remove the grey lights on the Keymatic and Selectamatic.

Having looked at a closeup of Mikes's A3008, all you can see is a black strip, with little or no hint of lights.

So have borrowed some of the black from the powder drawer handle and used this to fill in the light strip.

have also added the words 'on' 'prewash' 'wash' 'rinse' and 'spin' in minute letters.

a vast improvement.

Hi there Paul

I had a damn good look on the internet too but to no avail. My aunt had the 800 version with a silver fascia but I'm not aware of the machine above. Are there any people left at Hoover that would know??

Rob

Hi Rob.

thanks for having a look about the net - seems you had the same result as me.

As far as the UK is concerned, it seems this machine no longer exists. In fact has been totally wiped off the face of the landscape.

I do feel that the only option left available is to contact the people who made it. if i manage to pluck up the courage, i will let you all know what goes on.

cheers
Paul
