I won't let on to my DW but I know that the bearings are goin' on our just over 6 yo Frigidaire F/L. It hasn't failed totally (yet) b/c there's no oil coming out on the clothes but she is getting louder as the weeks go by [the bearings...that is! ;-) ]. I'm thinking of keeping her to become a project (!) to tear down and repair her. Can someone remember when this topic was posted, snaps and all, of how to tear down and replace the bearings? I didn't find anything yet in the 2007 archives, maybe it was 2006?? I'm headed down to Rosewood Appliances to see if they still have an 80's Whirlpool belt drive that I spotted the other day. Also going to our local Habitat Re-store as they get some old stuff occasionally (in addition to the late model DD junk). Any help greatly appreciated! Thx all!!!

the bearing. My around town search for a belt drive came up 0 - but Rosewood said to check back Monday (I think they get trade-ins from Big Box stores, wish that those places would let ya' buy 'em but that ain't happening). The Habitat store had a nice 70's BD in Avocado about a week ago but didn't jump on it like I should have. I'll keep trollin' around...

Thanks much Tom for this site!!!
