Hey guys, I thought this could be a kool idea for a thread, how about everybody post a pic of your machine, in action! and maybe write a piece about the load and your particular habbits? I.e detergent, any particular wash features!!? Like i said could be a cool thread or could just flop! lol just an idea:D I'll start things off. Heres a picture of my latest machine washing towels, i always wash towels on 60degree cotton cycle, with maximum number of rinses and the highest spin. I alternate using liquid and powder detergent! Also, I would like to ask, how fussy are you at loading? I would like some of your input on what sort of colours you allow to wash together, for example my darks loads, i was blacks, browns, dark blues & greens. Are many of you particular about your load or you just throw it in?! I hope this thread can go somewhere:D Darren |

Hiya :) I'll second you this should be a good thread!!! :) I tend to wash coloured towels on a Colourfast Cottons 60*c wash sometimes with the Time Saver Option and with powder detergent :) With the lighter coloured towels, I try to give them a boilwash every now and them to keep them bright :) However for towels, I think I'll start using the Sensitive Care option on the Hoover! I used it the other day on some coloured washing and it seems to work a treat!! Saturates the load as usual, then once it is satisfied the load is fully soaked, it then tops the water level up do it spreads across the door rubber! Then, a further 5 very high level rinses ( all with intermittent spins) rinse the load very well! A bit excessive for normal washing i.e T-shirts and things, but will be very beneficial when it comes to washing towels I'd imagine :) Richard |

dj-gabriele-Its a nice looking machine! so even with flash on a camara we couldn't see an action shot? :D I'll keep the hotpoint:p Are the rinses really high? Ahhh yes the low spin, our edesa machine in spain spins at 800rpm like most automatics did here in the 80s and the aspes machine we had before was only 600rpm! Its funny the washing comes out warm with the cold water not being particularly cold! Guys please contribute to this thread! It could be really good!!!! Thankyoooou Darren |

David! Yeees i do love that fabric softener! i was going with the intention of buying a big box of ariel, and then i saw the bold, i will get that when this 120wash box runs out lol. next yr sometime lol! That was my next question! It sounds like the rinsing is rather reasonable on tht whirly! Awh thankyou, it fits in well in our kitchen, we need a new fridge freezer so going to get one to match! Lavamat78800 Why didn't you spun that load at 1800 rpm... this is a sturdy cotton load i should wash at 95° at spin as fast as possible so it would dry quick and with less electricity... but srry i'm old fashioned about whites!! |

hey askomiele, I didn´t spun it at 1800 rpm, beacause the washer has a drum bearing failure. So, I always spin at 1400 rpm. |

And finally the drying... After drying I put the items in the dryer (no heating) for ca. 5 minutes to remove loose fibers, hairs etc. and to make them a bit softer. |

Hey guys, I feel ashamed, on my mum´s favourite shirt is mold, because other wet clothes layed on it. I hope I can remove the mold with a delicates cycle at 30° with Persil Color and some Bleach. |

mielabor, A. Miele just released their own branded detergent line for the US market a few months ago. It's made by German commercial detergent manufacturer, Kruessler. They perform well, I still like the Henkel products better. B. Yes, 'Temp Boost" is selected on the Bosch 6400. I think it is a picture artifact. CLICK HERE TO GO TO aamassther's LINK |

Today it was the pets (cats and guinea pigs) wash, this consisted of 3 bath towels, two large hand towels, 4 tea towels, a sweatshirt and two polo tops, these are items that the cats sleep on or are used for the guinea pigs, the guinea pigs beds are washed by hand with liquid soap.
D on my Hoover 1100 is a 60o degree wash and it reaches this (60.9) to be exact it is an absorbant and heavy load when wet, but the hoover handles it with ease with plenty of room for "drop and flop" as Mike puts it :-) First pic is the dry load |

I am impressed with your drying area aswell...........my line is not long enough at times........
I remember a flat I had some years ago had a drying area with 4 great big rotary lines, it was really good I haven't a proper picture but Mat in Cardiff has a really high washing line that is probably 20ft and is excellent for getting the washing up into the winds Is that high level water showing in your miele on a wash or rinse or both Gary |

Woo Hoo! Love this thread, nice to see it back again :-)
Well Sunday is my sheet washing day so here we are. Using Bedding/Blanket cycle at 60* with 1200rpm spin using Fab powder. Going through a Fab phase at the moment as I love love love the scent of this detergent. Cleans great as well :-) Made by Colgate-Palmolive who also make Dynamo and Cold Power detergent. Enjoy! Heres the pics... |

Question about your picture post in reply 197. The selector dial is set to the number 3 so I guess that is for coloured 40C. What is the dial to the right, the one with the numbers 30 top 90 used for? The selector dial is already at 40C so what does this dial do? Thanks |

Jerrod, The list of temperatures on the detergent drawer are the maximum temperatures for that particular cycle, you still need to select a temperature using the temperature dial next to the programme dial. Tom |

Phase 4 now, we're back to cottons, only this time faster speed still (around 55rpm, as opposed to normal 50rpm, so the load really does get lifted many times to the side of the drum). Heating now to 60C |

It seems, these days, like companies claim their programmes are 'anti stain' or 'super eco' to cover up the fact that they take such a ridiculously long time. 2.5 hrs or longer for a 4kg load is silly, no need for it. |

Just a couple loads here: Machines are a 2009 Kenmore He5t steam washer (last of the Whirlpool built) and a 2005(?) LG - WM 1832 (rear controls). It was a little too dark to get a good photo w/o the flash, but yes these are washing (OK, rinsing). This is 2 of 5 connected downstairs in my garage "laundry area". The others (at the moment) are a 1971 Maytag 806 (you can see it just to the right) and a pair of Kenmore Elite Catalyst (TL) washers from around 2000. I will swap out 2 or 3 of them with other machines every month or two. Kevin

Darks on cottons 40 with water plus
60ml of Ariel Bio, 1/2 cap of Comfort Pure. I know I'm stingey but I hate clothes that just stink of fabric softener and excessive suds drive me mad. They're heading for the spinner after the main wash and then out on the line. Watch this space. |

It's a fab machine! It's 5 years old now and not missed a beat *touch wood*. Perfect results everytime. The dryer is only a few weeks old.
That detergent dosage is what's recommended for soft water areas, although I know some of our friends on here prefer a sudsy wash, I can't be doing with it. It makes rinsing more difficult. I've never had an issue using that amount, it still washes flawlessly. There is a very slightly bit of sudsing present in the wash, but it's only noticeable when the water id pouring down the door. |

There was a slight change of plan. It started belting down with rain here, so I made 1 drying load out of the darks and coloured loads. All the trousers, jeans, t-shirts and jumpers are now on the clothes horse and the cotton shirts, underwear and socks are in the dryer
