It looks much older than a machine bought 2 years ago!

Aha!
I spy the programmes list rapidly disappearing, and your kick-plate has gone AWOL.

You only need to look at the kick-plate the wrong way, and it falls off.

Has someone been using aggressive kitchen cleansers/bleaches and/or nylon scouring pads on the detergent dispenser?

My brother and sister have Candys (Combiwash 1100rpm and Aquaviva 1200rpm) that have seen out two of my mum's Hoover machines (New Wave 1300 and Excel 1100), and my AEG 1600rpm.

And they're still going strong.

we were unlucky with our one, its not sounding to healthy at the moment and is due to be replaced sometime after christmas. the bearing sound like they might be starting to go in it, then again it has been doing 6-7 washes a day since we got it(excluding the times when it was broken).

Would you trust a girl called Candy?

Thanks for sharing these pics - I have quite a soft spot for the much maligned Candy! Your machine has precisely the kind of controls I yearn for - basic but flexible. Is the generous water level pictured automatic or have you been busy with a hose/jug?

What were the repairs for?

I recently used a Candy made Hoover performa 1200 and was quite satisfied with the performance of what was basically a nice sensible machine.

Of course, we know Candy's not a family girl - she's the mistress to Miele's marriage and liable to create a scene at the most inoportune moment. Sometimes, though, a boy just wants a bit of fun - and Candy's the one!

In Italianate spirit, I say "ciao"!

the water level in the picture above is automatic on the delicates cycle .
the repairs were mainly for torn door seals and when we first got it the water wouldent go into the machine and it wouldnt wash so the front panel had to be replaced.

we no longer have the candy, it left the house two days after christmas as i bought my mam a new washer as a christmas present, however i did keep the drum and front panel off it.
