This is a fun video from 1967 that educates Dish Machine Operators how to do the job efficiently and safe.
In the video it shows several Hobart Commercial Dishwashers from the 1960's.
Great interior shot showing you how to take the Wash & Rinse arms off to clean the machine. "Big Blue"

Geeze that brings back memories of a stint I did working on an Alaska cruise ship back in 75. It had the slide thru tray machine and damn those dishes were hot when they came out the otherside.

Those Hobart Am Machines.

The flight types are always great ,but when they show the AMs...(Box type machines with the Cast Iron Wash arms) Boy does that bring back memories when machines cleaned on a one pass rack. It wasn't the right thing to do, but you could put a rack of heavily soiled dishes in that machine (AM series)...No prerinse or anything, and They would come out sparkling clean. What a shame they just don't make stuff like they usse to.

Oh, by the way,

60 second cycle. 43 sec. wash, 5 second dwell, 12 second rinse. Clean Dishes in 60 seconds. On the older Hobart Am Machines WOW. And the new Home Machines run for 2 hours. What's up with that ? Plastic wash Arms, Pin Hole spray jets , I think it's stupid and doesn't really save that much energy.
