3 more to add...

Electra 422 dryer...

derived from the ultra smart looking slanted facia Creda's which replaced the black facia Creda machines in the early/mid 80s.

another 'appliance of science'

barring the silver door on the dryer and black on the machine below, someone could have a matching pair (see the Z930 above)....

a Z9191T

There's no way that the Z9191T is 6 - 7 years old as the seller claims. I own one of these and they were manufactured between 1984 and 1986!

Youth

It's amazing how many washers end up on ebay and seem to get 20 odd years younger. Maybe I should advertise myself on there and I can be a teenager again! No, oh well! lol

I often wonder if these eBay sellers are pulling a fast one or if they recieved the machine second hand and genuinly don't realise how old their machine is.

age of machines

electron1100's profile picture
I think the majority of owners dont know how old or sometimes even know what make their machines are, unlike us lot who pay a lot of interest in these things.

That Hoover 3334 on ebay lovely old machine i have serviced and repaired mine so it all works now, all i have to do is re-spray the cabinet to make it look good, great machine to use (tangles the washing though), it just makes me grin when it washes, but wash it does.

Spray Paint

On the subject of re-spraying machines, I need to respray the front panel of my Hotpoint 9534 (White). What is the best stuff to use?

Hello Tom i normally use Hammerite smooth spray, though they have now bought out one that you put on with a gloss roller, i havent ried it yet but i might on the twin tub

The only thing about Hammerite is that it takes a long time to dry out, but once it has it is very tough

Lots of very interesting photos there, guys! :)

On the subject of why many sellers seem to underestimate the age of their machines, it could be because many of these machines seem to last so long and still look good after all this time. I cannot imagine, for example, some of today’s machines still looking as good after two decades, however sophisticated and well designed they may be. :)

I cant help but have fond feelings for the Electron A3350, I do hope it went to a good home in the end.

Would love that Miele too as its very reminiscent of the 1970'sIndustrial 10kg?? version I used at catering college (South Cheshire College, Crewe) from 2000 - 2003. Sadly its no longer with us as it was scrapped off when the Catering Dept moved from the 6th floor of the college main building to a purpose built annexe at the back of the main building in 2003.

Replaced with a 6kg Industrial Miele though so quality was still considered when new fittings were bought.

I was talking to the owner of the A3350 last night, he was saying he is very concerned for the said washer,he said the buyers where quite excited and he wasnt able to understand them!!! He said if they didnt collect by wednesday then I could have second bid and collect it on Sunday with the other stuff....so....watch this space!!!

That Miele will probably be a loose wire and will carry on working for the next 20yrs...interesting stuff about which is nice to see!!! Those Zanussis will; make a lovely stacked set....The Appliance of Science
