I have a Kenmore Elite top load washer 5 years old, that sometimes leaks lots of water from under the machine when washing, water is NOT coming from where hose is entering drain. It also intermittantly makes a loud siren like whining while washing and in spin mode, which also concerns me. The machine does not do this for every load, but is 'tempermental'. Can anyone offer any ideas here as to why I might be having these two different problems, why they only happen occasionally, or what they might mean? I never had a machine leak water ever, but when this one does, you can imagine the mess. Any comments would be appreciated!

Does it have any dispensers that get flushed out with fresh water? If so, there is a bit of plumbing inside the cabinet to carry water to all the dispensers. A model # would help!

The model number is 23034. It does not have any dispensers that get flushed. I did have a repair man look at it a while ago, of course the machine would not do it when he was there, so he could not determine why. It is just awful having a machine that you never know when it is going to flood the floor. I will try to post a picture of the machine here.

Check the pump, if you see some rusting on the shaft, there is your problem.....
