My mom used to have a GE Fridgemore washer (it was a kenmore) and it died at around 6 years. It was a very very good machine, but just didn't hold up. I did some research on the machine and found that it was a "5 year" machine and this was typical, anyway she replaced it with the 3.4 cu. ft. Whirlpool Duet Sport model. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the reliability of this model? It seems to be a totally different design but, correct me if i'm wrong, whirlpool makes kenmore, so hopefully there's not too many carry over parts.

~Whirlpool makes Kenmore.
But so does Frigidaire, GE, Bosch, etc.

Yes this is a different design than the Frigidaire-made front-loaders that were branded "Kenmore".

My neighbor bought this machine within a couple of weeks after it was intro'd on the market a bit over a year ago and loves it. They have three kids so it runs nearly all the time - as any washer would - and they have had only good things to report.
