All - I have decided to embark on remaking a 1961 Kenmore 70 washer. That is what my mother had when I was born, up until I was 10. I have never seen another model out there exactly like it, unlike the near dozen 1963 Lady Ks I've seen over the years, etc. My last memory of the machine was when it left our driveway, on it's side, in the pickup truck of an appliance rebuider (I hope). Today I have a good cabinet, with the "seventy" tab on the right side top. It is mechanically complete, except some "genius" decided to marry a 70s plastic top control panel to it, probably to re-sell at a used appliance shop. They used an automotive fan belt in it, to my amusement. I would like to find the proper control panel for the machine. The model I'm looking for is 110.6114720, with the newer style squared off cabinet. If anyone has a spare panel or knows where I can get one, please let me know. I have built a home with a second washer dryer hookup and I would love to have this machine restored and up and running (but NOT with that plastic top control panel). I can describe the panel in great detail if anyone needs clarification of what it looks like. Thanks! |
