Well this suggestion from a post in the Super Forum to try You-Crate for shipping an appliance seemed to work well. It was only $216 to ship a little 200+ lb something from St. Louis to Minneapolis, which is very reasonable. Everything arrived just fine this evening, so we should remember these guys again for future shipping, the shipping company even broke down the crate and took it away so I don't have to deal with that. I said I needed the delivery after 5 so they said no problem, they said they would deliver it 5 to 7pm tonight and it arrived at 5:20pm...

Well its in now, first I have to make dinner, then I will photograph the dear. Oh and Jamie you are right, its not new but it is extremely rare. and here is a hint... I have this machine in my basement already, but it came in two models, the basic model and the Top of the Line Model, I have the basic model but what's inside the crate is the TOL model so this will replace my basic model! And all I have to say is its gorgeous! |

Isn't that the patented Apex "Clave-o-matic" ? Used to sterilze the instruments required for the very delicate procedure known as the frontaloadot(o)my!! |

Yup Mike got it first, its a fabulous glass light fixture. How cool is that, I wont have to go and rig up and interior light in this machine like I have in others. Don't you just love the fact that they took up valuable dish space for an light to light the machine up from the inside during all the crazy water splashment lol, that's so me! No the cool red traiangle doesn't light up, but the would be a fun feature if it did. So this is about the fourth or so Dish-a-Matic we've seen, so a Wash-a-Matic has to be out there somewhere?????? |

Love the light! Do you know if the light stays on while running? Hi Brent, I know right! The light is totally cool, who cares that it takes up space for large dishes, lol, I love that. Apex sounds like they had some fun engineers. From the timer cams it appears that the light is meant to run when the dishwasher is on. Here is the link to pictures my other original standard model Apex. What year would this model have been made? Is is still in working condition or will it need a recon like your other Apex?? Hey Paul, like most machines of this age its going to need to be taken apart and given a going over to make it work like its new again. Its from 1948 or 1949. This is older than your other Dish-A-Matic, right, the one with vinyl racks? Does it have one or two rinses? Are those iron stains or rust? Hi Tom, this is the same age as my other Dish-a-Matic, its just the top of the line version. It has the same cycle, one wash, one rinse. Those are iron stains that I can get out pretty easily. Where is the snow? I know Minneaplois has snow now, but I heard the Weather Channel say last week, I think, that Minneapolis was having rain. Isn't that pretty rare in the Winter? We have about 6" of snow cover now, we've had snow cover since December 1st which is normal. They talked of possibily getting warm enough one day last week for rain, but that is very rare in January. This is the first winter in 4 winters that we are actually having an average winter and not an above normal temperature winter, and a big yay for that finally. |

Robert, You MUST be excited about the TOL model since when you took the picture of the BOL Apex, you peed on the floor.(Refrence the photo link) I shudder to think what you did in front of the Glass top model! Philip |

Drop Dead wonderful! Even in its "starter" condition. She'll polish up real gud! Can't wait to while away the hours looking down in the hot glass!!! and now with OEM lighting! I recall watching you rig up the complex lighting for the base model. And this one has incandescent?? Not flourescent lighting?? |

Would that machine have a gravity drain or pump drain ? Its a gravity drain, but I might rig up a drain pump in this machine. Whenever the motor is turning the impeller drops down and pushes a sealing disk down against the bottom of the tank to see off the drain hole from tank. When you put a machine into one of their crates, does it have to be strapped down to the skid? Not sure, this one wasn't tied down, but it was covered with a big rubber blanket to protect it. |

Have you been playing with your new Window Deluxe Apex? Hi Brent, yeah, I've been working on the 1956 Hotpoint, it developed its first real issue since its restoration and I also have been wanting to do some tweeks to it. Its almost done now and I'm happy to report that its working better than it ever has in the past. So once that is completed I will start working on the Dish-a-matic. |
