Hello all
Here are a few thoughts. Most modern machines are not built as well as those from the 50s,60s,and even 70s.Maytag particularly seems to have gone in the toilet. That having been said, think about how cheap they are now considering the value of todays dollars.I read on the internet that it takes about $4 to equal a 1965 dollar. My parents bought a new Maytag about that time(1967).I guess a MOL-big tub,2 speeds,3 water levels,3 temps. It cost $249 at a small independent dealer-all we had back then. That equals about $1000 now-or enough to buy TWO better equipped new machines.Your Thoughts?Tom
