Me again, I've learned a bit more about my washer now, but still have not learned how to fix it.
The Camco apartment size compact 'pulsator' washer was Japanese built and imported by GE around 20-30 years ago. Parts for it were discontinued over 10 years ago.
Recently my pulsator has lacked the strength to spin with the weight of clothes in it (it's ok with water only). I can feel the bolt spinning clockwise, but the pulsator itself doesn't turn. If I don't tighten it enough the pulsator retaining bolt just spins right out of its socket during the clockwise motion of the and the head is now getting stripped making it harder to torque it.
The bolt has nine small raised ridges under the bolt head that align with nine small notches in the pulsator but it seems to me that there must be more than this responsible for spinning the pulsator.
Does anyone out there have any fix-it know how to give me a pointer on how to get this repaired.
The washer has always worked well up til now, and I have the matching dryer for it too and I don't want to replace it when it seems the repair is so minor.
Here are photos.
Thank you,
