Well, my good buddy Rich got me these three dryers for my growing collection. I am in love with them all and can't wait to repaint and restore the Kenmore...Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the kenmore shown below?

That wiring on the kenmore is pretty simple, what's wrong with it?

Well, some of the wires were cut when whomever removed it from service took the electric cord (very sloppy work). I wish to restore this as best i can and a wire diagram would make it much simpler. Thanks for your reply :)

Nice machine there Graham! I think yours is newer than mine. You have a porthole with chrome facing all around whereas my '62 just has the chrome handle. Interesting how RCA also did away with left side controls and went to right side. I LOVE the way towels come out of this machine; much softer than the recently departed 2001 Frigidaire! Congratulations and enjoy! Robert

Can you get a close-up of the Whirly's controls and state the model number? :-)

Graham - some cool dryers there! That Whirlpool is quite a looker. I must say you have an inspiring collection of goodies.

Here is a wiring diagram for the Whirlpool electric dryer of similar vintage (528120). I would say it would be darn near close to the Kenmore - just make sure everything leads to the same place.

If you need anything else I also have the rest of the parts and repair info for most of the early Whirlpool washers and dryers.

I just have to say that I think that Whirlpool dryer is fabulous, just an icon of '62 and the Camelot years.

A number of years ago back in the late 70's I was helping a friend clear out his parents basement. They were moving and after many truck loads to the dump we came upon 2 washing machines. The 1st one was the matching washer to this kenmore dryer with the 2 nobs on the front. I asked what was the matter with it and he said the motor still worked but would not agitate or spin. Now I think it was probably just a belt or something minor with the transmission. Now I kick myself for throwing that out. Boy that was damn heavy to get up a bulkhead. I think we took the top off and laid it down and took two 2x4's and put it up through the cabinet and carrier it that way. The second machine was a Lady Kenmore with all the automatic cycles on it A - G? Never had seen a timer like this. Same question and pretty much the same answer. Damn wish I had that one now. That one was much lighter to get up the stairs. Now they have the Maytag I just repaired which I mention in another thread.Just a hole in the water inlet line into the tub. That one was bought in mid 70's and still going strong. So I would have to say the Maytag is the winner in that house for longevity.

Very nice additions Graham. By the way, I did post both the washer and dryer manual in our owners manual section so at least you can read it there if you wish, until you find the original...
