from the owner:

Maytag Washer Model 142S and Maytag Dryer Model 741C. Both were fully operational in early 2007. Bought a old house and previous owner was still using them. Both the washer and dryer are in great shape no dents or dings. I also have the original manual's, invoice dated 10-8-1959, Warranty paperwork and some random service invoices. Currently they both are stored at my work. I have fork lifts so they can easly be loaded onto a pick up truck.

Nothing says "vintage" quite like a 50's Maytag set does.

This set looks as if it was VERY well cared for. Hope they go to a good home!

Did the owner give an indication of price?

i ask him a week ago how much and he said $250 each,i gave him a piece of my mind after that,he said they were in the house he bought, and he put them on the side for a few years until he decided to sell them.

Dang,
That does seem steep. Looking to make a buck to pay for his wife's new machines. (Laundry, Kitchen, etc...)
These old Maytag's are nice however.

$500.00 is not totally outrageous for those. I've seen worse for more.....

The washer is just like the one my Grandmother had on the back porch. It replaced her wringer washer. She never did have a dryer. I would watch every load when she used it. I use to like turning on the console lite.

Considering that these machines have been maintained, and not just used and abused, the price seems fair enough. They may be willing to come down somewhat if you ask politely. You don't know unless you ask.

They're coming to STL

Ok, I tend to like white sets. They're coming home with me. They have all the paperwork and are very clean. I may need a lint filter. It might be missing.
