One of those early 60's Norge Dryers with the exclusive 5 way drying (yes, including hair drying)- as has been featured in one of our PODs. Couldn't do a real in depth inspection since I was being tailed by a persistent realtor, but it seemed to be in excellent cosmetic shape and still had the little cardboard "Norge Drying Instructions" tag atached to the dial with a thin wire. Obviously a gas model as there was the pilot access door on top of the machine (and I could see the gas pipe going behind the dryer. It was paired with a mid 80's Maytag (big surprise in my area!. Will have to go back another day and have a close look.

A few months back spotted a late 50's Norge Dryer at another open house. That one was an electric model and had the slanted control panel like the Timeline, but with dial controls. That dryer was also paired with a mid 80's Maytag...

I do wonder if these were originally part of a matched set and whatever happened to the washers. Oh, well.

If we could only grab the gems in the house, but not the house!

Anything is possible - but I have limited space and no gas service on my street - so much as I would love that gas dryer, it isn't practical for me. And as for the electric Norge I saw earlier - I haven't given up yet...
