Hello guys, I have an eleven year old Frigidaire as my daily driver and have been perfectly happy with it until today.

I did two loads of whites today and on each load when I added bleach to the bleach dispenser it immediately flowed out into the drum. Isn't the bleach supposed to be dispensed with the rinse cycle?

Does anybody have any ideas on what could be wrong...?

Thanks!

Some of the older models had the dispenser set up so that the timer advancing would ,using a spring loaded armiture, set the flow of incoming fresh water into the correct chamber. The detergent went in during the wash, then the armiture would move over and as the first rinse water would enter, the water would go through the bleach chamber diluting it as it went into the first rinse. Then, depending on whether you chose an extra rinse or not,the final rinse water would flow through the fabric softner chamber.Unfortunately, that older method always failed after a while of use because the teeth in the armiture ware out and miss some of the movements needed to be sure the water flows through the correct section. The newer models use solenoids instead to be sure the water flows through the correct area at just the right time.I had the Kenidaire models and the same problem.I got the GEDaires and it stopped (they were the higher end Profile set that had the solinoids)the only thing I disliked was sometimes water stayed higher in the fabric softner section.
