I am the proud owner of a Harvest Gold Maytag pair. Pics to come shortly. I was wondering if anyone would tell me the age. I am estimating 1974. The model on the washer is A107 the rest is worn off. It washes like a dream. I cleaned out the lint filter, which was probably not cleaned in 10 years. The fabricmatic still works perfect.
Thanks

In Marietta, with an odd interest in old appliances.

Small World

Marietta is bigger than many people think....lol over 300,000 of us here in Cobb. I found this on CL, I picked it up off Johnson Ferry...surprised when I pulled up to quite a nice subdivision. The elderly lady would not give up her harvest gold for a more modern version.

I'm glad to know those went to a good home! I emailed the seller but didn't hear back for several days and when they did respond they said that they had had many inquiries and the first one to show up with the $$$ would get them.

Congrats on your new pair!

Lawrence

There's another pair in North Decatur right now. The washer is an A512 and the dryer is a DE712, both white and the seller says he has the instruction books also. $100 for the pair.

I lucked out. I was on it, she called and said that I was the first to respond, so I contacted her back and luckily I was close by. She said now she would have asked for more. The washer is great. The dryer has a squeek, I m hoping its not bearings. I would have loved to got that harvest gold filter flow last week. Thank you for the update on the Decatur pair.

dryer

DE308
It actually drys a load of towels in 40 min, which my 8404 takes an hour on auto dry.

My 'Tags are centre-dial machines, too- just a little newer than yours, about 1978. They are, unfortunately, the dread Almond. White ones will turn up someday, hopefully.

Hey Jay - what are the two letters at the end of the serial number on both machines? If you have a chance grab them off the model tags on the back of the machines and we can give you the month and year these puppies were born down in Newton.

BTW - your set looks mint! You'll enjoy these for years to come, and hopefully you shouldn't have any issues getting a majority of parts, if needed.

Lawrence,
Your washer was born on April, 1977. Your dryer was August, 1977.

Appears to be a nice set!

Nice 'tags! The squeaky dryer probably needs the belt idler pulley lubricated. Or possibly pads that support the tub in front. Both jobs are pretty much DIY.

Wow, i love Maytag's signature look. Kinda rare nowadays to see such clean, unassuming elegance.
