Hummmm........

What could be in here? Big enough for a major appliance.....

Hint - the original company was approx. 774 miles away from Waterloo, IA - driving mostly on I-90.

This is fun!
What great packing!!!!
What could it be? Could be anything....that size.
I would say a washer, television, dishwasher, dryer....
Something vintage I would guess!
Fun.

Head east - my friends ;-)

2nd hint - from the operations manual:

"If washing periods of less than 15 minutes are desired, periods of 2,4,6,8,10 or 12 minutes are available. These must be pre-set by the operator after the Fill period is complete"

Oh, wow, Ben ... what a great washer!!

Boy; that's a nice crating system; hope you're going to keep it.

Those dials are so cool; can't wait to see it in action.

Congrats!

Was this the only item inside the trailer when it arrived? When that 40-foot trailer picked up the machine, the Blackstone was by itself inside. I would hate to think that the truck made that trip for just one item, with diesel well over 4 bucks a gallon.

Just a little delay

Sorry guys - it was the haircut/workout/go-out-with-the-work-croud after work this evening.

Fred - oh yeah, that 53 foot trailer was half way packed. Guessing that I was half way through the drivers day. Noticed a huge motor in a crate on a pump - something along the lines of a 50 HP unit or so. Lucky that the driver had the balls to take a 53' trailer through the neighborhood seeing that all entrances to the neighborhood have "NO TRUCKS" at the entrance.

While the delivery was difficult to set up - I would recommend Bobbie @ You Crate (1-877-558-2580 ext. 1775) to anyone here in the group. Great rates, and pretty good customer service. Depending on the delivery terminal you might get an old biddy like I did.

Here is the Blackstone with the straps off, ready to get off the crate. The beauty of You Crate is they drop of the crate, you stuff it full of the goodies, then they come and pick it up. So you can strap down your machine, they provided a very heavy tarp, and it arrived safe and sound.

The machine just looked beautiful in the spring noon-time sunshine.

A shot of the mechanicals from the backside. When I have time this summer, I'll pull the tub and play with the clutch as Fred indicated that it was spinning slower than normal. Very clean inside.

Ah - stainless steel everywhere you look! Once it is all cleaned up and in use - it will look amazing. Just like a Delorean. ;-)

Seems to be orange paint around the top of the agitator - no biggie.

My favorite feature - these HUGE control dials! The beauty of this machine is the infinite water temperature control. What you set it at is for both the wash and rinse. These are lighted too!

The Flex-O-Trol dial

Timer control. Maybe this weekend I'll take a video of the machine in action so everyone can see the geared action of the dial. It seems that the spin ratio between the center dial and the outer dial is 3:1. Very very cool.

Came bearing gifts!

swestoyz's profile picture
Fred is such a great guy. In the tub was a copy of the original parts break downs, as well as a full copy of the repair manual for the 250/350 Blackstone washers. Back in the day the copy would have cost you a single US dollar.

As well as the original ad brochure!

Thanks again for everything Fred - this machine is just in such great shape and is one of the dream machines checked off the list.

More to come soon!

Ben

Ben, What a beautiful machine. I am so happy for you. I love the way those two dials light up. Hopefully you will post some more pictures when you have a chance. Thanks for sharing this with us. Terry

Video

The thing I want to see on this is the Neutral Drain where the agitator lifts up and the water falls into the outer tub.

Congratulations, Fred does such a great job with his machines! You would love to wander around his shop!

Another Blackstone up and running, now it makes me want to repaint my 250 this spring for summer fun.
