All the times I've ever been here, I've seen or heard of members bypassing lid safety switches on their washers-I would like someone here to teach me how to bypass a washer lid switch, please.

Make and model of the washer would probably help.

Also,

there are temporary ways to disable a safety switch (better if one is mechanically challenged, or the machine still under warranty)...like sticking a ruler/yardstick/paint stirrer between the lid and frame of a (real) Maytag.

And then, there are ways of opening up a machine and disconnecting some wires. I would not do that if there were very small children in the house on a regular basis, however.
