WHICH DO YOU LIKE BETTER THE WIDER SWEEPING BACK AND FORTH
AGITATORS OF THE BELT DRIVE OR THE SHORTER BACK AND FORTH OF THE DIRECT DRIVES????????????????????????????????

I prefer the belt drives, I grew up with them and they seemed to do a better job cleaning....

the backstroke vs. the jerk

the BD is DEFINATELY,POSITIVELY BETTER.Not only better cleaning, but it won't turn your clothes into shredded wheat.

Rotoswirl

Sounds like you're describing a RotoSwirl. Those are my favorite agitators along with the Whirlpool Surgilator.

You are not describing a Roto Swirl. You are describing the Super Surgilator from the BD type washer. An excellent agitator that should go into the agitator hall of fame. Handled large loads and did an excellent job on handwash too.

Technically, I believe it's the Double-Duty Super Surgilator.

:-)

Agitator

Here's a really poor-quality video clip of spin.

superior super surgilator

I was referring to the Super Surgilator agitator and the Double-Duty Super Surgilator. Both will outdo the sloppy-choppy agitation of direct drive, and both will also outclean the Roto-Swirl of many Kenmores. The Roto-Swirl is nice, but cannot handle full-capacity loads like these Surgilators can.And the short-chops of the direct-drive are unquestionably harsh. One does not have to beat their clothes into submission to get them clean.

Surgilator rules!!

I own both the Roto-Swirl and Surgilator. The Surgilator wins hands down. As you said, the Roto-Swirl looses out on the large loads.

I would go along with the Surgilators and Roto-Swirls as agitator classics-THEY WORK! Better than most of the DD designs that shred and roto-till your clothes.I have used both-like 'em both-I would agree the surgilator is better for heavy loads.-If used for heavy loads-SPLASHY!
