Checkrate/Likes *original tub?* The tub looks original.If anything,the wringer assembly may have been replaced.However,unless the cobwebs there are getting crossed,my brain recollects a budget model wringer washer Maytag made for those on a budget.It had the speckled tub instead of aluminium or white porcelain.If the agitato is turquoise,I'd say this one is from 1965-197?.It looks like it's in great shape!

Checkrate/Likes *The rare NX.* The forgotten Maytag! I think this one has the short agitator and different rollers. There is at least 1 NX in captivity. They were the loss-leader wringer and weren't popular. Who else knows about these things? Dave

Checkrate/Likes *Love the tub!* The wringer rolls are "balloon" rollers and don't extract as well as the solid rubber ones, but I think you could replace those with the solid. Earlier models had the short agitator and red release bar, this one likely has the standard wringer Gyratator in turquoise as the bar and agitator matched.

Checkrate/Likes That looks like a nice NX! Gansky1 is correct, those are "balloon-type" rollers; they would not have extracted well. You could replace the lower one with a firmer one off of a Model N. The colors are right; I "think" these were made until 1969; that would explain the turquoise color (which came out in late, 1968). These machines were supposed to be used to help Mrs. Homemaker move "up" to a Model N, J or E. There were a number of things that were different ... no lid hanger on side of machine; not available with a pump; shorter power cord; 2 balloon rollers; shorter agitator post (sheets, towels, large items, etc. would get caught over the agitator preventing the rest of the clothing receiving thorough cleansing) ... They were used to entice people into their shop ... I believe they were advertised for $99 and were called the "Blue Bell". Can you hear the sales pitch? "Why, Mrs. Homemaker, for only $30 more (or whatever), you could have a BEAUTIFUL white Maytag Model N that has all of the wonderful features on it; such as a pump, a place to hang the lid when wringing clothing, a full 72" of power cord to reach wherever your outlet it, etc.! :-) That was Maytag's primer gray color with enough "shine" to it.
