Ok heres something that made me almost faint in disbelief. A 50's westinghouse dryer in Kelmscott, Perth, WA, still a fair trek from my place but still closer than the US!

Hmmm, now heres the question, do i or don't i? Even tho it seems a stupid question, i still have to ask, i don't know if its feesable for me to consider getting it but will have to work on it.

Matt

Re: I would say:

"Go For It" Matt "mattywashboy". If it is like the Model that I believe it to be, it has the "End of Cycle" Xylophone that plays "How Dry I Am" besides having the Blue-Diamond look backing on the Glass Window.

It sure looks like it was well taken care of and might hopefully only need some minor work. If anything, it might only need a good Cleaning Out and a Check-Up to get it operating again, if it isn't operating at this time.

Peace and Good Luck with your decision, please don't keep us in Suspense too long, Steve

Opportunity's knocking ...

Heaven knows how small the chances are of having something like this in the same State as you, much less the same country - I'd say the universe has conspired to get this dryer into your collection.

I know of one in a retro specialist shop here in Sydney which doesn't work and is marked for sale at $450, so $150 for a working model in Western Australia seems like a bargain.

I was going to ask about voltage/hertz. But it says it was made in Australia, so a non-issue.

Looks like you already know what you *have to* do............

It looks like it's in good condition! You had to ask? Of course, the answer is the one you really wanted to hear anyway ;-)
