Hey guys,
I absalutely love electrolux group machines, i think they've always made brill machines. hence i have 2 older zanussi's my next daily driver in my kitchen once i'm rid of the hotpoint will be a zanussi and have been on a quest for an opaque doored electrolux for sometime.

My question is, does anybody have a brochure which featured these machines? I have many pictures i've collected from the internet of them and a manual, but i've never seen an electrolux brochure with the features or anything.

If anybody has any info, pics or thoughts on these machines this would be the place to share them:)

I've seen a few videos on youtube too.

Heres a pic from my archive!:D

I absolutaly love those machines my nanny had one of the it was a navy one with two dials and one half load button it was brilliant she had it for 12 years and then gave it to my stepmun's mam. it was fifteen years old when sadly it finally packed in. my nanny had a few problems with it tho during its life, like when she first got it she told me that when she first turned it on she didn't know about the transit brackets and they were left in and she sai she got the fright of her life when she walked in and seen it dancing around the kitchen ha ha. here's a pic of the same machine my nanny had.

Timon, i love the videos you put on youtube, i saw them on a previous thread about these machines, i'd love to see more in better lighting!

Did these spin in the wash?

And is it my imagination, or did they come in brown panels aswell. i'm certain i saw a brown panel one in the coop when i was about 5.

The very first ones had beige panel.
Yes, it spins when it is half loaded. Here in Norway, the sold most of the WH2900, and WH2800 model. And WH3000T W/D.

These washers has been upgraded and sold in Brazil until 2 years ago as (timeline) Prosdocimo Smile, Electrolux-Prosdocimo FL500, Electrolux FL750, Electrolux LE05, Electrolux LE1000 and LE750.
They still in production here in Brazil at Electrolux Curitiba-Guabirotuba Plant, but only exported to Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.

It was the best washer ever made by Electrolux. The original project is more than 40 years old and most updates were only related to itīs external design. By the way, i was part of itīs last update project.

There are some videos on Youtube and later Iīll post some photos.

You cant say that this machine is the same machine! It's two complete different machines!

The Electrolux'es with black door, is from the C7000 and C8000 platform. The washer in the video is (I think) a P6000 series machine!

Post# 284996 , Reply# 9   6/13/2008 at 15:19 (5,767 days old) by hotpoint9534 (UK)

You are quite right Timon, the old Electroluxes were from the C7000 and C8000 series, and very solidly built.

The video shows a P6000 based machine, with the design dating back to about 1990. The drum is the give away. Anything with plastic drum paddles is P6000 or later.

Ariston4life, your nanny's Electrolux sounds like it's a WH818.
You can find the instruction manual in my link.

Tom.

Hi Darren!
As you know, I love these machines too. If you want a model that spins in the wash, there are 2 opaque door models to look out for. One is the TOL WH2125 Jetsystem, the second is the WD3000T Jetsystem Turbodry.

The WH818 was the only model to have an induction motor, the rest were fitted with brush motors.

I did have the brochure years ago, sadly I don't have it anymore. The Serviceforce website is an excellent resource on the WH series machines, with all the instruction manuals listed. www.serviceforce.co.uk/pdf_search...

On the website, choose 'I don't know the PNC number', then 'I don't know the model name'. When it asks about the make, choose 'EDA' and click next. All the WH 'opaque door' models are towards the bottom of the list of manuals.

Hope that helps,
Tom.

Anyone here who have a pic of the WH2125 Jet? I think, here in Norway, the WH2900 was the TOL model. It also came with a outedoor(hinged on the side sadly, not downwards), and that was the WH2910

This is the WH2125, the TOL model in the UK. Sorry the quality isn't very good, it's the best I can find!

WH823/824

On the WH823 the left hand dial was a temperature dial.
On the WH824 the left hand dial was a delay start dial.

The three buttons are Half load, Superwash and Door Release.
Spin speed: 850rpm.

WH828

Later version of WH823. Same controls.

WH838

This probably had an induction motor.

Temperature dial on left.

The two buttons are half load and variable spin (800/400rpm).
The button in between and underneath the dials is the door release.

Note the lack of the lower plinth covering the filter.

WH818

This definitely had an induction motor.

A more basic version of the WH838 above. The option button is half load.

Max spin: 800rpm.

WH1018

Onto the 1000rpm models.

Three buttons are 'No spin', Superwash and Door Release.

Temp dial on the left.

WH1025, WH1026, WH1125

These three models have the same fascia.

Three buttons: Door Release, Half Load and Superwash.

Now for the differences:
WH1025: Smaller dial next to dispenser is Spin Speed control.
Max Spin 1000rpm

WH1125: As WH1025 but with 1100rpm max spin.

WH1026: Smaller dial next to dispenser is Delay Start.
Max Spin 1000rpm.

WH1048

This seems to be an earlier 1000rpm model as it has the old style door release button.

It may have an induction motor with clutch pulley, delving deeper it seems more models did have them than I thought!

The other three buttons are Variable spin (1000rpm/500rpm), superwash and half load.

...and yes, Electrolux has added the left hand button in as an afterthought and without a ruler!

WH2125

Back to the top of the line model, the photo of which i posted earlier.

Left hand combined temperature and on/off control dial. Rather than the pull on/push off programmer dial, the temperature dial was turned clockwise to the required temperature to switch the machine on.

Far left smaller dial is spin speed.

The four buttons are Door Release, Time Saver, Mixed Load and Extra Economy Wash.

Max spin speed: 1100rpm.

Five buttons! which are 'Half Load/Autodry', 'Economy Wash', 'Low Spin', 'Door Release' and 'Delicate Dry'.

Washer Dryer WD3000T Jetsystem Turbodry

This one is the king of opaque door Electroluxes (In the UK at least!)

Four dials on this one (!!)

Right hand large is programme selector. Left hand large dial is Combined temperature/on-off switch (as on the WH2125).

Left hand small dial is 'Drying Time Control'.
Right hand small dial is 'Spin Speed Control'.

Two buttons are Autodry and Door Release.

Max spin: 1000rpm.

Timon90 and Tom;

You're wrong when saying Cxxx and Pxxx are different projects.

Pxxx series is the evolution of Cxxx series. (in some countries they were sold at same time, but the Cxxx is much older than Pxxx.)
I know these washers like the palm of my hand since i was directly involved in it's project. I had to study part after part, inch after inch, program after program to develop the brazilian projects.

Pxxx was the biggest Cxxx update and the brazilian models are nothing more than Pxxx with a plastic surgery, facial peeling and a new hair style. so, technically, it's the same model with a lot of updates and upgrades.

this project was so well made that is very difficult to retire it. electrolux Brazil will produce them for at least 10 years more because argentinians simply love the EW series.

When my team created Insight, we had to get some inspiration on those previous models, but never make it as a copy with some cosmetic changes, it was mandatory.

By the way, all electrolux's creators and designers are not allowed to reuse the black hatch, not only because it's out of fashion, but to demonstrate respect to the best washer Electrolux ever had in more than 100 years.

Gotta Love those opaque door model electrolux machines, my neighbour has one still, she bought it in May 1988, and its a turbo washer dryer. Is quiet as a whistle when its washing and spinning.

My best friend has this Electrolux EW900 from 1993 (pictured below), it has a 900rpm spin, i think this was one of the new generation Electrolux machines, which were based on the Zanussi Nexus construction, its a fantastic machine, makes that great humming sound when its washing, i think they had a jetsystem model too but it was called Aquaspray wash system

Dear Zanussi_lover;

Believe it or not, this washer is part of the same project family.

It also inspired the SE10 dryer in Brazil... (we still have it and I don't remember the model name in europe)
-----------------------------------
OFF TOPIC BELOW

There's a very small european E-lux washer that I don't remember the name , but I would die for it. I just remember I saw it's drawings but I've never seen it made. I remember the dial was huge if compared to the rest of the washer.
does anyone knows this model? In what countries they were sold?

P6000 machines had Carboran outertub, C7000 and C8000 had stainless steel outertub. Every machine is a evolution of something before, but it's wrong to say the Opaqe door machines is the same as P6000 series!!! And P series had splitted cabinet, not a backpanel you find on the C series. If the machines had the same drum, tub, and steering system, it could be called the same machine, with cosmetic change, but it's not so with P and C series.

The small machine you are talking about, is the EW1170C I think. I have one! It's made in Sweden.

Post# 285136 , Reply# 36   6/14/2008 at 05:22 (5,767 days old) by hotpoint9534 (UK)

The P6000 are a completely different construction. The split cabinet design was entirely new, the nexus carboran tub was entirely new. The programming on P6000 machines is different to the C**** machines.

In the UK Electrolux always marketed the P6000 machines as an entirely new design, I could probably quote it from somewhere if I had to.

The C7000 C8000 are Zanussi Industry designs from a period before Electrolux was involved.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one.

That Brazilian LE 750 from the video, is that a gentle cycle ?
I guess the waterlevel ist just too high for a normal cycle`s main wash, or was it dumbed down to only one high level?
Interesting to see that 60°C ist the hottest setting and there is no pre wash. Is it hot and cold fill, because of a 110 V heating element ?
Thanks I am curious

You should have a look at the reconditioned electrical shops, they do second hand washers, we have a few in Nottingham, though they sell mostly old hotpoints, hoover ecologics and Bosches but you do get the rare electrolux machine in there, last time i

From looking at some of these manuals, i didn't realise they only did 2 rinses on synethetics!!! My zanussi's do 4 rinses for cottons & 3 for synethetics & wool.

The elux's did 3 for cottons, 2 for synthetics & 3 for delicates and wool!

If that Opaque Plus should have been produced, I would used the 54 l. drum Elux used i in many Washer Dryers before, ex. WH4675T on 5.5kg. It should have the Direct Spray (Jetsystem), 1400rpm, frequence regulated motor(brushless), spin wash function, sani promgramme on 98* and many more features.

I guess the waterlevel ist just too high for a normal cycle`s main wash, or was it dumbed down to only one high level?
Interesting to see that 60°C ist the hottest setting and there is no pre wash. Is it hot and cold fill, because of a 110 V heating element ?
Thanks I am curious"

Mr. Boilwash
Thatīs the normal level. brazilians asked for it, so itīs the only option. The previous version (different lot only) of the exactly same model had this level for gentle cycle and a lower level for regular cycle.

The last update on that model was a space reduction between the tank and the drum. itīs precision is fantastic! only a 20mm space and the drum NEVER reach the tank during the spin

The water level is high, but there is less water than you think.
itīs cold fill only since more than 90% of the houses in Brazil donīt have hot water pipes because of our really hot weather.
the heater can heat the water easily to 60°C and it also has a 30°C pre wash.

I have this washer at home too, so if you want to see it running, please feel free to add me to MSN thomasortega19@hotmail.com or Skype thomasortega

The EW1170C is a beautiful little washer, and is pretty silent. I bought it from a guy very cheap, and got it home, and realized that the pump was bad, and the watervalve was frosen to peieces, so I got back half the money! It is still a son of this machine, EWC1350. Still a Swedish made machine. I remeber I saw the EW1170C when I was ca 6 years old, on "Elkjøp", Norways biggest appliance store. I really wanted it so much, but it was very expencive. I got a brochure, and I still have it:)

I forgot to mention, i have 2 offical zanussi and electrolux parts information catalogue detailing every part of every machine, with diagrams, i've just been looking through all the opaque models:D I got these from my old boss at my last job, aswell as all the service information for a hotpoint liberator toploader and a hotpoint spinslider 95series machine!:D

Also on a side note, the zanussi jetsystem washer/dryer WDJ1013 operates the same as the Opaque electroluxes in that the temperature dial is also the power switch!!!!

question for those who know, Did the jetysystem electroluxes spin in the wash on synthetics or just cotton?

Aw those baby electrolux machines are cute! lol.

I've just been through an old 1993 catalogue with the redesigned electrolux machines in, the model in it is a EW1200ACL which is 5kg 1200 also with door release. This is a range i know very little about unfortunately!

Does anyone know much about this range too?

That high water level is certainly very helpful to improve cleaning with "Agua fria" and doesn`t hurt as long as one sticks to cold. Unthinkable here in Germany, considering my laundry habits and power rates.

I know a bit about these machines, i'm pretty sure they are based on the Nexus Construction which was what they made the Zanussi Jetsystem/Nexus/Amie machines from 1994-1999.

My friend rachael has the 900rpm spin model which i displayed in a previous post the EW901 which has the temp dial prog dial and 4 buttons, I clearly remember these in the East midlands electricity shop

Its great, i love how the machine starts staight away as soon as you press the on/off button. it makes the exact same humming sound as the older electroluxes, it does high level rinses on the cottons rinses.

thats the machine she has below, its from February 1993

Mr Boilwash;

That's why electrolux prefers to develop all models in Brazil.
Our weather is too hot, so If the motor can resist here, it will resist to other weathers.
Our national detergent brands are crap, so if the washer can clean here, it wil clean much better with those fabulous detergents in Europe.
And brazilians prefer to use cold water for everything, so if it cleans whites with a terrible detergent and cold water, guess what will happen in Europe.

Sweden is the other country used to complete the development process, because of the cold weather.

yes that WH818 is the machine my nanny had, god i miss that machine she'd probably still have it now if she didn't upgrade the kitchen to all intergrated appliances, she was so happy with that machine, that she got a electrolux EW1200i in its place which is 8 years old this year and still going(barely) she gave the WH818 to my stepmum's mam, on its last day in my nannys house i remember walking into the kitchen and just seeing it sitting there at the wall all on its own and then when the courier came to collect it, i just kept looking at it as it drove out of the garden and thinking would i ever see it again? i did but only once when i went up to the house, there was a lot of people in the room so i only got a quick glimps of it but i could hear it from the sitting room, that lovly purr of the smooth induction motor tumbling away and then spining, then we went back home and i never seen it again.tho i kept getting updates on it from my dad, i was sad in 2006 when he told me the machine packed in, i wasn't really paying attention to wat he was saying until he mention it and i just shouted WHAT! he told me it was leaking from behind the machine she dumped it out in her garden and got a Fagor washer. and for all i know she could probably still have it in her shed cause before she got the electrolux she dumped the SnowCap machine in the garden and it was left there for 2 years!i haven't seen her in a while but next time i se her im going to ask her about it.

By the way that WT252 Dryer was the matching one off the the washing machine my nanny gave that to her aswell sadly that died a year before the washer.

Kyle - its interesting this statement.

Ours always had a silent 5 second or so pause between pressing the on/off button and the machine door locking click and starting to fill with water.

My Mothers Electrolux EW1130F was this generation of Electrolux with the same door and fascia - the next level up with ALC Direct Spray (Jetsystem).
*1000rpm
*Heavy Soil
*Quickwash
*Rinsehold
*Spin Care - reduced spin from 1000rpm to 850rpm
*Variable Temp Dial

We had ours 1992 - 2000 I was aged 8 - 16 so it did most of my junior school stuff and all of my high school uniform lol.
Shame it died months before it got to tackle my Catering College Chef Whites, im sure it would of done a way better job than the Hoover Quattro 1300 AA230.

I have scans of Mums machine itself along with the model your friend has in its brochure along with the full range circa 1992 if you want me to MSN them to you Kyle.
