OH WOW!!!! Gotta love this set! 1955 I think. Congratulations Goblue! I think you should at least try out the dryer. I think once you have it cleaned up and have lubed the bearings, you will find that this is one of the best dryers ever made.

Great catch!!

Hope you're able to keep this great pair together! It would be a shame to split them up. You'll find a way.

Congratulations! An incredible set!!!I can't wait to se close-ups of the control panels. I know what the washer buttons are--hot, med, warm and high and low water levels. But I'm lookin' forward to seein' what the dryer buttons are.

Oh, Ok, hope you can get them before they go to somebody that would not appriciate them for what they are. (just an old washer to use until it "breaks)

The seller clearly states $125.00 firm for the set. So now she wants $125.00 each? Good luck dealing with someone like this.

Real beautiful set. I like the back opening lid. They should have kept that design.

Besides the 59/60 Kenmores - these early Frog Eye Kenmores are just beautiful. Love the back opening lid with the huge chrome strip - and the timer dial looks exactly like the speedo in a 1959 Bonneville. I certainly hope someone here can grab this set - they are stunning!

Paint' em green and you'll have real frogs ;'D

mickeyd's profile picture
if you look closely, the machine does look like a frog, the long thin chrome strip, a perfect frog mouth. Now, squint and imagine two matching frog eye dials, and you really do have a frog.

So gogreen, goblue, then paint-ball the green with black. Sweet!

Hey, here is the real frog-eye, those are called target, or bulls-eye, or even one-eye'd frog, but you can call them whatever you like.

Seriously, if you are thinking about putting this back in service as a daily driver, I've been using this 1951 Kenmore day and night for a year and three months now. There will no doubt be some issues and occasionally it is going to have a problem at first, but alot of repair people out there can work on these too. The design changed very little up until the 1980s.

Isn't Cyclops

the more usual slang for this style of Kenmore?
So what, it's off center ; it's still on big Eye!!!

Brian, that's hysterical

and that's also one very beautiful frog--probably how it all started. You're the best. You made my beautiful blue day green, and I love it. Thank you. Here's a rose for your bride;'D

Oh my - Brian thanks for the explanation! I've always wondered how the 'single' knob machines could be a 'frog eye' - so I figured that if you had a washer/dryer set - then you had a pair of eyes :-)
