Who knows but if you could get a working vintage Kelvy that'd be so cool. They're really cool machines! I believe the magic minute was that the machine starting agitating while it was at half full and still filling so the water would be more concentrated with detergent.

The "Magic Minute" -----

is when you load that puppy up onto your truck!!!!!!!
Be aggressive! Assure the seller that NO ONE else will pay what you are willing to pay for the machine!!! Call and try to come get it right now!!!!!
Try to find out the earliest time one can be at the sale and then get there even earlier than that. Baracade the basement door and don't let any other people near it.( Let some spittle drop from the side of your mouth and appear wide-eyed and crazed, etc.)

Post photos ASAP!

LoL Blue, it is very rare that I have ever seen anyone but myself buy a vintage washer or dishwasher at an estate sale, (except for Don of course :) ).

The only time I can see this being an issue is if the machine is advertised on a web site dedicated to collectors of the particular item you are going after before it is safely in your basement, whoops ;-)

The Magic minute is the first minute the washer begins to agitate. It only fills half way to concentrate the detergent and treat any stains there may be on the clothes. After that first minute, more water comes in to finish the rest of that wash cycle.Be sure it has that along with a see through window on the door.If it's plugged in,try to turn it on!

Contact the son!!!

Find out the Son's name and number and go find that Kelvinator!!! He won't know what he has, so offer to buy him a new ''whatever he wants'' washer, and I'm sure everyone will be happy!!! Mark

Steve, how hard was it to pretend to be the 'son' so YOU could snag the Kelvy? :)

The Monkeys

Tried to find the song on youtube, but not skilled enough

Is the title, "Here we come again? " or what ?

Sorry for the senior brain fart.

Need a youtube genie to find that song, Gorgeous Smantha, King of Genies, because it's so sweet and innocent and true.

How smart and chique I could have looked had I been able to link that song--ah the fifties, so sweet and so stupid;'D. I love it, and I love you all!!!!!!!!!!!
