and last but not least

as some seem to be using the term
"money shot" lol

(a term used to refer, in my dick-shu-ary, a most intimate moment,
but we won't get into that (pardon the pun))

the innards of the I-18

Just waiting patiently to thoroughly clean it's next load.

Yes it could use a good cleaning. I have seen machines like this look like new after a careful cleansing with baking soda and lime-away.

Some rust he says...sheesh. That basement must be damp as all hell for that to happen.

Well if anyone is interested let me know.
I feel certain that a deal could be arranged.

Yes Mike, it is a typical, not overly damp basement, in an older house in the midwest.

I thought I would post this because the last I checked they stopped making the I-18 roughly 30 years ago ?
and most people wouldn't think anything of throwing out and crushing what is left of the older appliance stock- as quickly as possible.
And unless the laundry baskets and near by clothing are just for affect, this machine still functions.
I thought of others, like myself, who have shared a certain appliance fascination from an early age.

Thanks for posting Erik.

I hope someone who has always wanted a 1-18 and is willing to do the clean up and restoration gets this machine. It looks like it is used regulary and with some elbow grease could be made to look presentable again.

On the regular wash cycle there is a rinse and sanitize.
How did that work?
Is there a light or something that comes on?

Sanitize was intended for when you had done laundry for member(s) of the household who had been ill. After removing the clean laundry from the washer, reset the timer to the sanitize (rinse) setting and addd one cup, or more, of liquid chlorine bleach and let machine complete its cycle.
