Meditating on the day's events while washing.....

Robert scores something fantastical and it's still a secret
Jon posts Ben's pic that looked like a land mine or something explosive
Darrel warns lovingly about our collective washer greed
Gyrafoam posts pics taken by alien spacecraft
Robert pains at the robbery of a dial by an Aworg wannabee slash malcontent

I'm doing a hot Tide & Clorox sheet & towel load in the Whirlpool and saving the suds to wash the basement linoleum.

Saving the suds in the Maytag to wash the mop after rinsing, between sloshes--you know what I'm talking about.

The fragrant hot suds are in the Tag and I'm setting up a bucket to catch the rinse water.

Then, suddenly, KA BOOM, BANG, BANG, BANG, SCREECH URK, JESUS!!!!!!!!! WHAT BLEW UP???????

A 64 ounce bottle of Tide Coldpower which I use to replicate Eugene's stain experiments--THANKS, EUGENE ;'D ;'D-- fell into the spinning machine. I had accidentally elbowed it during my cursed suds-saving ministrations.

And do you know what? After the explosion when a five pound weight of liquid detergent hit a tub spinning at 660 rpm's , and the machine jerked and moved forward and inch or two and leftward another couple inches.......

That son-of-a-gun of a Whirlpool Straightened herself right out in a matter of seconds and kept spinning as smooth as a flying saucer. Unfriggingbelievable.

It was truly an "I Love Lucy episode," and I had to tell you about it. Crazy days at Aworg--is the moon full?

To be clear

There was no buzzer, no shut-off, no off-balance maneuver. She exploded, jerked, then righted herself, as if she had just swatted a fly, and taken on a quarter-sock during spin.

Wish my mind had a camera or a chip to plug into aworg. Ah someday;'D

No response expected

Just wanted you to see it because the experience was outrageous and the WP's response, both stupendous and spectacular. Maybe you've done something as clumsy, but I doubt it.

Glenn - dadoes on the forums had a frightening experience with an under-cabinet light falling into a spinning machine while he was filming. Luckily, he wasn't hurt but you have to be careful when playing - you avoided a huge mess since the bottle didn't break!

I once saw a Hoover clothes mat fly off a twinny when I hadnt loaded it right, with the lid up to film it, that really freaked me!!!one of those rubber things could take your face off!!!

Sounds a hoot but when it happens its scary, Mickey go sit yourself down with a stiff G & T...I`ll send soothing some washer action!!!

Oh Mikey your man-queen is the bomb--and what a comely man-q

mickeyd's profile picture
time for a summer bottle of Bombay with 13+ spices, better than what the Carthusians make--you have a house in Parkminister--Chartreuse (they claim it has 130 medicinals--they're high as kites).

There was no fear just astonishment at what that fabulous Whirlpool did.

I loved your link last week and can't find it. Flickr pics, one of a cream/beige Servis TT that looked to God like Siamese Unimatics with the lids open, one mature, one dwarfed. Do you know the one, and if Jon has his DC Convention, will you come.

More later, time for the Jim Lehrer Newhour

Gregoire Gansky the Great, the "Newhour"-- ha ha--

mickeyd's profile picture
Does this mean that I must be careful with my portable lighted control, lest it fall into the spinning abyss.

(The man-queen is Elizabeth the First whose mug-shot is pasted abreast the bottles of Bombay Gin, and the Carthusians Monks of the Chartreuse House in France make the liqueur and ship to all the other Charterhouses for semi-annual imbibing. The dough the Frenchies make from the booze helps support all the Carthusian Houses in the world.)

Chuck, here are some QUOTES from the WHIRLPOOL BIBLE:

"The tri-pod suspension has been finely tuned to provide excellent capability for handling off-balance loads...High -tech components enable the washer to handle off-balance loads UP TO 5 POUNDS!!!!!!!.....The three-leg supports and the teflon pads on the glide plate work to gether to enable the washer to attain high speeds..."

"The porcelain on steel self-balancing basket is located inside the polypropylene basket. Designed into the top of the basket is the self-balancing tub ring, spin-welded for a complete, sealed system and....partially filled with water to assist is stabilizing. (Competitors use metal fillings and cement for the same purpose.)

So I gave it an accidental monster test, and WP performed like a Ninja. Still can't get over it. All that cool stuff above worked together and did it.
