After waiting for 4 months , the repair shop sent me back my motor for the 57 Mobile Maid. They told me they couldn't fix it. It ran, but it leaked. Here is a pic of the motor before I took it to be repaired

Find an old parts place, or repair person. Ask them if that motor was used in a newer version of the DW. You mention '56, and most places will laugh at you. But it "might" interchange with a newer model.

Hey, toploader55

I'd be really pissed too! That is ridiculous! There is a repairman in Tacoma, WA who has quite a few hard to find parts. He has been repairing for many, many years. He might have what you are looking for. Or, the parts to rebuild it. His name is Larry at Pro Tech Service. His number is 253-475-0808. It's a long shot, but he actually had a rinse dispenser for my 1962 KitchenAid Superba! Tell him Brun sent you. Best of Luck!!

Well........

A similar incident happened to me involving an oven clock and timer. Sent the unit to California to a place called Lee's Appliance. They charged me $200.00 and all they did was bench test it. I asked them to restore some contacts and replace the clock motor (after I made sure they could perform these tasks) and sent the unit back to me in pieces and performed none of the tasks I requested. Beware of all the phonies out there and repairmen WILL tell you that they can do the job when in reality they cannot. They will do this just to bilk you of your cash or just to waste your time. The majority of them just don't want to touch the old stuff. Shop for repairmen CAREFULLY!

This company is Very Reputable. (I thought) I just wish the guy would have told me "I just don't want to touch it" or "I'm shipping it back to you apart."
Well, I guess I've got some figuring out ahead of me.
