Ok all...finally, after many requests, I was able to get a video of my Westinghouse TL washer up. I had to edit quite a bit so I could post it on youtube. As many of you know the spray rinse is VERY long. I just wanted to get the important features of the cycle on. Pay special attention to the agitator when the tub is slowing down after a spin. You'll notice it indexing (fast, slow, fast, etc.). Really cool how it does that. And I did pack her full of clothes but, as you can see, it can handle it! Enjoy!

Thanks Jon, those old Westy brutes were great washers! Fun to see one in action again.

I think it's a great machine too! I actually think turnover isn't that bad either. In that video I filled it all the way up to the clothesguard with clothes and, as you could see, after about the first minute or so, rollover was excellent. Of course it rinses with the best of them because of that really long spray rinse. I think it cleans pretty well and is a good, solid machine. Glad you enjoyed! I'm hoping to find a good double agitator for it to play with also. Keep your eyes peeled!

I like Westinghouse washer. Here in Brazil Westinghouse washer has exactly the same American style, the same long spray rinse, and the same bad rollover, Lol.
Thank you to share the great washer.

Great video, Jon; Thanks! I've really become a fan of these early 1970's Westy TL'ers. Love the lift-'n'-dip action of the clothes.

Jon, thanks for the fun video!! I remember when Greg and Roger had similar machines, they really do get the clothes clean!! Love that long spray rinse as well.

I remember that machine too. Was the first time I got to see one or use one. I thought it was pretty neat. The quirky thing about it I remembered was the gentle cycle. It will drain and spray rinse on normal speed and then drop down to slow for a few minutes. Odd way of doing it but kinda cool at the same time. It's a fun machine and I enjoy it. By the way, you have the sweetest Maytag!

We are doing just fine. Pretty much settled in here and working. We stay very busy but at least I can still find time to video! :-)

My friend Jane in high school,
Well her parents had this washer in white in 1987,so who knows how old it was then.
Jane was a big Goth Girl and wore nothing but black.
Watching this video, all I could picture was that little white lint trap full of black lint and Robert Smith like hair.
Nothing is more irritating than the lock and spin feature.
Worse than the button that stops the washing.
It just takes ages to open, maybe a minute?
The last Kenmore slim twin I had in my condo had a lock and spin feature, hated it.Especially if you were in a hurry to dry something like a shirt or pants to go to work

haha...I've seen some interesting stuff show up in this little filter. I remember once washing this wool blanket in there. So much fuzz came off and into the filter it was nearly falling back into the wash water again! Crazy stuff!
