Hey guys! You guys have seen the Westinghouse washer video by now I'm sure. I need your help though. I have the matching dryer and it needs a new belt.

The model numbers for the machines are:

Washer - LA495P
Dryer - DE500P

Perhaps someone knows when these washers were made and what belt my dryer would need? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Jon

Does your dryer have a flat belt, about 1/2" wide, that goes around the drum? If so it is still available from Electrolux, part #5303281154. They also have the idler pulley, part #5303212849.

Hi Jon,

It's prolly a flat belt without any ribs....part # is 5303281154.

Honestly I haven't pulled it out yet but I'll double check the belt type. The dryer worked well but, with us moving here and it getting normal use all of the sudden, the belt couldn't handle it. It got to where it couldn't turn a drum full of clothes. Thanks again!

Jon

Update:

Finally got the new belt for the dryer today. Got the dryer all opened up. The original belt was surprisingly more narrow than the new one. It was original and was just a little stretched from decades of use. Got the new one on there and it works like a charm!

BTW, the original belt was a Westinghouse named part but also had "Uniroyal" on it. Kinda cool. It did provide quite a bit of mileage. :-)

Thanks again for the help on finding the right belt.

Jon
