Hi all,

I am helping some friends of mine (first time home owners with a 50's ranch). They have a Maytag A-107. I have already found that the fill valve needs replaced (it was leaking badly and was rusted. The spin speed seems a little slow and takes a while top get going, I was thinking it might need a new belt, the tub also seems to wobble a bit.

Any ideas?

Matt

No expert by any means, but a slow spin may indicate that there is soemething wrong with the motor mount. If the motor is too far towards the center of the washer, this could result in excess belt slippage and a slower spinning tub. The ONLY reason I say this is because this is wat's wrong with my helical drive tag right now, and I can dramatically affect spin and agitation speed just by moving the motor.

Thanks for the tip. When i go install the valve i will give it a try. Anyone know where to get a control dial face for one of these, or how to clean/referb one, the dial is dirty and almost all the markings are off of it.

I think the 107 looks similar to this

This is my 308s timer dial

If someone can post a clearer pic shot of the timer dial, I'll look in my stash.
