Found this Avacado set in Bellevue Iowa......Can't make out the brand but Avacado should indicate that they are from the '70s right?

It's a late seventies--77, maybe--Imperial or TOL Whirlp

Hey there Mickeyd! When did WP discontinue the metal lid handle? I'd almost suggest that those machines are early to mid-70s, but I know far less about WPs vs. my Kenmores. They have lighted consoles though - very nice!

It irks me that people say 'these machines are small', etc. I've seen that in other Craigslist and ebay ads. It used to be that the WP direct drive 3.0 or 3.2 cu ft. super capacity machine was HUGE, now it's borderline too small for people.

Hey Gordon, just tried to email you but defunct Adelphia is

it was about your celestial copper Lk's --later on that.

I have this baby in the MOL version, and indeed it had not only the large 18 lb?? tub, but also the original Surger before the enlarged winged bottom, and it turns over just fine. My Aunt Alice gave it to me and it's a 77, but the style was so close for quite a few years that the pictured machine could very well be as you say,

And now I will make my email to you public on the relevant thread. How nice to talk to you again.

I contacted the seller last week and am trying to work out a time to see them/pick them up. Jamie (chromacolor) and I saw this same set on C-List a long time ago, we tried and tried to get in touch with the (difficult) seller but to no avail. Now they're back and I waited four days to get a response from the seller about seeing them so we'll see how it goes....

Wow! With all those buttons, I'm guessing it is a 3 speed washer and you can pick the speeds? For the dryer, was this model before they had the variable speed tumbling?

I wondered about the buttons too Peter. Don I hope you don't mind me posting a photo of one of your washers - but here is an Imperial 80 with the magic lint filter decal. I didn't get a good shot of the panel so I had to doctor this one up a bit. Craigslist looks very close to this one. They've got lights!

Hopefully the sellers cooperate this time!

Ok who is don...

Could this picture above be similar to my grand mothers Supreme 80 machine? It sure looks like it. Don do you have more pictures of this machine? If so I would be absolutely delighted to see them!

Double Oh My!

Well upon closer examination of that cl ad, that looks very very much like the machine above which might mean I at least get to see a picture of the set I loved so very much as a kid!

Greg (gansky) if you nab these and are don't want to save them for yourself I'd gladly purchase them from you!

Steven

Did anyone get em?

I got a note from the seller stating he sold them last night. Did anyone from the club get them?
