Hi everyone,

I was looking at the new Electrolux dishwashers at Sears, model EWDW6505GS, that Kelly Ripa uses in her commercial. Beautiful machine, but pricy, around $1549.00 canadian. They cannot find exactly where it's made. The label on the side says Electrolux, Cleveland, OH and Missauga, ON. I does not say made in...
The Electric range had the same cities, but also Made in Mexico on the sticker.

I know Bosch is made in the USA, Samsung said made in China, even if it looks like some kind of a Maytag in disguise.

The salesperson told me that the new Electrolux is the high end of Frigidaire, which scares me.
Any advice.

Thanks,

Serge

Electrolux owns the Frigidaire brand. At least in the USA, Frigidaire is their mid-market line and Electrolux is their high end line. They have gradually been expanding the product offering under the Electrolux name.

Frigidaire washers, at least the front loading ones, are supposedly made in South Carolina. Mine (2006 model) has a sticker saying it was made in South Carolina.

It would stand to reason that the Electrolux washers would also be US made but who really knows?

Electrolux advertises that they sell more front loading washers--through their various product lines, including Zanussi in the UK---than any other manufacturer in the world.

Wave Touch Elux washers & dryers are made in a brand new plant just over the border in Mexico. 80% of the workers come over from the US everyday. I don't know if they are paid in Peso or Dollars.

E'lux was thinking of expanding its plant in Ohio but for the size it needed to be they would have had to buy up half the town around the old plant and tear it down.

As long as it was available in a 110 volt model with a gas burner or a 220 volt electric both of which having the same useable capacity,I would become their sales rep./customer service administrator.
