These were given away on craigslist for free about 2 years ago. I tried to get them but someone beat me to it. Sounds like both machines need a little work but they are nice looking and not often pink shows up (except in Florida-LOL!)

What is that plastic hoop thing at the top of the washer opening??? Was that part of the original packing?

That is a tub retainer to keep the tub in place while moving. If you bought one of those or even the later Maytags, they came with one. The instructions told you to keep it and reinstall it if you ever moved it. Looks like this set was pretty well taken care of. Mark

Anyone else notice something funny about the dryer?

The dryer model plate indicates that it's an electric dryer but the picture of the two together you can clearly see the gas port door. What's up with that?
