Well my new Miele W1613 arrived yesterday and I must say Iam super impressed. It is very quiet when washing and the final spin is quieter than my last machines 800 spin. I have used the following programmes so far, cottons, automatic, minimum iron and express. All perform really well and are suprisingly quick, although I think I will be using the cottons cycle the most as I love the wash rythm and has gererally been completing a load in 1hr 30, unless water plus is selected then it takes about 2hrs. Afraid I havent got pics yet as my new camera has not arrived but hopefully will post them soon.

Hi Paul

Congratulations on your new purchase! Unlike some other machines, I've never stopped loving my Miele Premier. They are just so well designed and you really feel like you have a quality product.

I also like the sound they make as they are very smooth. I definately want one of the top of the machines one day.

Enjoy

Rob

Yes, Miele machines built quality puts others to shame.....epecially Hotpoint!! I did feel quite sorry for the delivery guys though as we live on the second floor!!

Next on the list a Miele vacuum with electrobrush.

Another Scottish Miele owner! After saving up for aaaaaaaaaaaaages i treated myself to a W3922WPS and i love it for the same reasons! it was a pain in the bum to Level. I hadn't done it properly and it would hardly ever reach 1600rpm. one day armed with a new spirit level i done it properly and the difference is amazing!

Hope you have many decades of happy washing!

David

Congratulations

Hi Paul & David,
Congratulations to each of you on your new Mieles, I wish you many years of happy washing.

I bought myself a W3985WPS almost a year ago and so far it has performed flawlessly. I was lucky that it was perfectly level where I have it installed but it is vital that any machine is perfectly level.

Last week I bought the above Lemon, compact Miele cleaner and it is quite simply great! My mother had one delivered yesterday and noted how powerful it was. I find you only need half the power! Nice and quiet too!

leveling

paulc's profile picture
Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I had no issues leveling the machine.......thankfully.....just plumbed it in and off I went!! Had a fiddle about with the settings last night, changed water+ to water+, High rinse level and extra rinse. Yet to use it on that setting, will let you know how it performs.

Anyway.......am off to get married!! Next time we speak I'll have a husband!!

more settings changes on W844 ?

Hi to everyone, I' m Carlo from Italy and i' m new here :-).
I' ve an old W780 and a 10yo W844.
I' d like to have the fourth rinse also on "minimum iron". As you know, Water+ works this way only on the cottons programme.
Does someone know some tricks more than the ones on the user manual? Maybe there is a "hidden" supervisor level also in household models....

Paulc, try wool/handwash too. It acts as sort of domestic wetcleaning, as the likes of professional machines.
I use it 4 several dry clean only items - cachemire, lambswool, raincoats an my favourite loden (Tyrol boiled wool) jacket

Paul - congratulations on your Miele, you'll love it! They really are amazing machines no matter what other people may tell you otherwise. They've managed to survive my mum (bless her) for 2 years yet, so they must be a good machine!

Favorit - I'm not sure about the W800 series, but the water plus settings apply to cottons, minimum iron and the quick wash programmes, as well as several others. Though they can only do 3 rinses in total, I've found this more than enough for most laundry :-). I'm utterly convinced that even 2 rinses in our machine is better than the 4 rinses we've had on previous washers.

miele water+

You're right Jon,
I' ve W+ set on wash higher level + rinse h.l. + additional rinse. This has always been quite enought here also with M.I. plus "short" that has anyway 2 rinses only

My sister lives up on the Alps and she has W844 too with W+ set as I have on mine. Up there very soft and cold water makes rinses an issue

Additional rinse feature works only on cottons and on mixed fabrics (automatic) when it behaves as a cottons.
On minimum iron and mini/express W+ raises levels only

"Separate rinse" after programme isn't a good idea. It spins in just one shot, without any interim stop & tumble
Suitable for those who like ironing ;-)

She uses this trick : restart M.I. + short option, then knob on END, then knob back on M.I. when rinse light flashes. This way she has two further rinses and -AEGly speaking- the variomatic spin

On cottons she starts with with W+ and the spin set on 600 rpm. This forces the machine to add the 5th rinse. Then while rinsing she switches up to 1200rpm to have both max rinses number and max interim spin effect

Ok, she could have easier life buying a little giant as PW 5065 or PW6065, but they probably cost at least twice than the TOL navitronic household model :-)

Oh right - obv iously the W800 machines are programmed differently, on our machine it also adds rinses to the min iron programme. Forgot to mention that on our machine if you select a temperature below 60*C it'll also do an extra rinse, theory being more detergent is needed for lower temperatures. That's only on mum's 3922 though, on my 2652 it does 2 rinses whatever temperature you select.

About W 844

Hello! Here are all instructions about how to change every setting of the machine and troubleshoot errors you might experience with it. The document is unfortunately in german but it's not too complicated to translate.
Hope it will help...

Rob, am LOVING my cleaner, giving my dc08 to my mum, Didn't use it that much anyway as I thought it was a pretty crappy piece of kit. My Electrolux Intensity ( my everyday vac ) has been banished to the cuboard as Ive been using the Miele everyday.

Jon, thanks, my W1613 is just the best thing. The rinses sound very similar to yours ie: two rinses at 60 c on cottons but three if a temp bellow 60 c is selected, also adds extra rinse on minimum iron when water+ is selected.

Grazie Marco !

This is really what I was looking for. Unfortunately there aren't further Wasser plus options than the 4 ones suggested on the user manual.

I really hoped that it were more flexible as on PW 5065/6065 supervisor level : with those machines one can choose 2-3-4-5 rinses in cottons and 2-3-4 on minimum iron.

BTW since now I can try the W844 on the swedish mode to check differences while rinsing. ASKO machines have a 7 rinses mode, probably soft water is common in Sweden and Miele swedish mode works this way too

Carlo
